At first glance it looked as the best Uvirith mod out there.
At second glance the carelessness of the author reared it's non-pretty head.
Off-lore textures, modifying vanilla armours ripping characters from lore (templar, steel), unfinished objects ("flying" static ship has no door (seen in Construction Set)).
Apparently the love that went in this mod was for modding for modding's sake.
Here's the jiffy: starting with the year 2003, I probably made about 20 small mods for Morrowind, about 5 mediums ones for Oblivion and around 10 for Skyrim, all for personal use, strictly.
And all I can say is, before reaping the glory, a public modder should pay attention to 2 things in particular: a) Not to mess the original, unless they are specifically creating a REPLACER, and is announced as such. b) To try hard to refrain his modifications from being disorganised, redundant, of needless magnitude and careless, as not to potentially mess up other modder's works when his mod is used alongside others.
Now, since I never wanted to compete with high quality modders, I kept my mods to myself.
But not once have I met with taking a shortcut, cutting a corner and messing someone else's mod, by having it interact with some loose end of mine.
This makes the difference between a quality modder and a simple enthusiast.
One pays attention to the product they put up for public use, being considerate of others.
Case in point, in February 2013 a poster announced that the Dibella armour replaces the vanilla Templar armour. It is today March 2016 and that simple operation of detaching the body-parts of the templar armour from the custom .nif's and textures, making a few new objects in the editor and attaching those to the custom resources, all the while reattaching the vanilla items to the vanilla resources, Has. Not. Been. Addressed.
This is in no way a case of bad modding. As modding goes, this mod is a high quality one.
This is however a case of "I'm better than you" personal character. The author just scoffed and said "wanna use my mod, live with my mistakes".
My bottom line is as follows:
"I non-regretfully leave this mod to lay here on the nexus, finding it impossible to agree with the mistakes observed and with the "maybe later" attitude.
Actually, the story is rather different. This was probably the first mod I've ever made, back when Morrowind was a new game and it was all the fuss. Then Morrowind passed, I grew up,played and modded many other games (up until skyrim) then R/L took away all my spare time but for some reasons, I felt I had an unfinished business, this mod. I became aware my mod had several bugs so I decided to fix it as best as I could with the little knowledge I acquired during the modding years, EVEN THOUGH I am not playing Morrowind anymore since years. Why I did it? I did it for the people which liked my mod at the time and a little for myself, because I wanted to improve my previous work.
I'm sorry if this mod doesn't fit your canons or if it isn't lore correct (not that I ever forced you to download it). I enjoyed doing it and I enjoyed playing with it. That's why I decided to share it because some people liked it (at least 192 judging from the endorsments) and because sharing is the essence of the mod community.
First and foremost, thank you Magistrate2020 for uploading this and for all your work.
I only started playing Morrowind one month ago and greatly appreciate all the modders' efforts and creations over almost 20 years. I would have missed out more had it not been for those kind people who uploaded mods to preserve them.
ShadowSought, please be constructive as we're here to help and celebrate each other's work. If there are issues in a mod, I contact the author directly. If they're not active, then I just list issues for another modder to fix if I can't fix them myself. Your post was 4 years ago but warrants a response for future members.
Randomly stumbled across this mod and WOW HUGE FAN OF YOUR WORK and the style you have! I am a new modder myself and somewhat new to Morrowind and this is the kind of immersive mods I look for super cool! I dig everything about it, great work! Would LOVE to see you do more work with Morrowind more specifically with OpenMW and the growing TES3 Mutiplayer community/ custom modded servers :) ?????????
Me too and I couldn't care less of skyrim (but I may buy the game just to try skywind)... there are tens of thousands of people playing the game and many more to come... I just introduced my 10 year old nephew the game after he showed me his first mincraft mods and I taught him a little bit of the CS and how to build a house. This game is very easy to mod and it is and will continue to be a stepping stone for young children as they enter modding community
well, morrowind game design was superior to skyrim. monster/loot level scaling is one of the worst things to ever happen to the gaming industry...what's the point of exploring? things might look a bit different but they're otherwise all the same. where's the challenge? wherever you go enemies are scaled to your level. The ignorant will blissfully run around in circles chasing level x [+/- 5] carrots but it's a slap in the face to people who are more aware.
It's a lazy cop-out by game developers who put quantity above quality.
Ok, Im sure this is incompatable with stuperstars uvirith legacy but i just need someone credible to confirm so... compatible, incompatible? And how does relate to Buug/buul and roht? This looks and sounds sooo gooood... is there enough gameplay here to make me abandon my UL/BUUL /ROHT COMBO?
I believe my mod's incompatible with SUL since we both modify the same areas; as for BUUG/BUUL and ROHT you should clarify the acronyms if you want an answer in regard to compatibily considered I'm kinda not updated on other mods
Doesn't look very Lore friendly the armors are armors of the divines which the dunmer despise especially house telvanni who care little for religion and more about magical power and study.

No "thank you" shall be given."
All the best !
