It's wild to me that people seem to still try to run this in 2024. I just stumbled here on accident and thought it be fun to look at the posts tab. Its from 2009 for crying out loud. Either use Polemos Fork or wait until Wrye Bash gets Mashed/Bashed Patch support for Morrowind.
I have problem with this mod. After I get a slave and click on him game is crashing. I have looked on the Warning.txt and this is what I found "Local count for script 'slaveScript' (Live Free.esp) differs from local count for saved reference data." Can somebody help me?
Hi, I'm posting this in case anyone might have the same problem as me. I did all the steps as the tutorial said. But I couldn't launch Wrye Mash. And I discovered that for my part Python 2.5, which is recommended to be installed, was unable to launch Wrye Mash. So I decided to remove it and install Python 2.4 instead, since it is used as an example in the installation tutorial. And the first time I managed to launch Wrye Mash without any problem. I don't know if it only happened to me, but FINALLY it's working. So I wonder if it wouldn't be better to advise installing Python 2.4 instead of 2.5.
1 - Copy the downloaded folders to your Morrowind directory 2 - Open folder Mopy -> file Wrye Mash.html, which contains the tutorial for installation 3 - On the contents index, select Installation -> Get and Install 4 - Download and install both Python 2.5 and wxPython 2.8.0.1 from the links provided on step 3 5 - Go back to contents index and select Installation -> Non-Standard Morrowind/Python Directories 6 - Follow the instructions there to setup your Morrowind directory in the "Wrye Mash for Python 2.5" shortcut 7 - Run the "Wrye Mash for Python 2.5" shortcut and be happy
MO2 fails to see and launch 2.5 with the instanced load order when using MO2, the shortcut of 2.5 causes MO2 to think I'm pointing it to "pythonw" in the python25 directory despite double clicking "wrye mash for 25" shortcut. TL; DR: MO2 might have an instanced game and load order, butit fails to have the same done to it when other apps have their own instanced shortcut and just points any shortcut to where the instance technically starts elsewhere in the C/ drive.
im having the same issue as described above by killernoobman
i have installed Wryemash to the letter and added the exe to be launched through MO2, but when this happens, MO2 just tries to run normal python. As soon as i click OPEN on My Mash for Python 2.5 via MO2 Add an Executable it automatically switched the entire file path to launch python instead. If i launch the My Mash for Python 2.5 inside the file explorer the program works, but will only show manually installed mods.
To get this to work with MO2: look at the properties for the shortcut file, it will have a field called start in. Edit the MO2 executable for the Python 2.5 shortcut and put the start in line there. Then for the arguments field, enter mash.py
Now you should be able to launch Wyre Mash from MO2 and have it see your mods.
i keep trying to update my file master list but i keep getting this message Traceback (most recent call last): File "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Morrowind\Mopy\masher.py", line 2087, in OnSave fileRefs.load() File "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Morrowind\Mopy\mosh.py", line 4963, in load if record.getRef(): File "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Morrowind\Mopy\mosh.py", line 1917, in getRef if rnam.size != 4: raise Tes3Error(self.inName,_('SCPT.RNAM'),rnam.size,4,True)TypeError: __init__() takes exactly 3 arguments (6 given)
I was told this on the Wrye Bash discord. They also mentioned that full Morrowind support is planned for Wrye Bash, so if you're reading this in the future (if not, how?), maybe check it out.
yall i dont think this is working at all the folders have been made and are in the right spot i can open the program but it wont detect mlox or this CMD part of it both things that the "guide for installing mods" told me i NEED to have it doesnt detect mods i downloaded either AND there is no goddamn options button or SOMETHING to let me figure out what the hell is going wrong
If you have a different morrowind directoy to the default (ie. d:\morrowind) then you need to edit the shortcut. Its in the instructions from the wyremash.html in the directory.
agreed, it's like it is made thinking this is common knowledge for everyone. the tutorial is borderline useless. I accidentally said no to installer and now i have no way to switch it on. I guess this just isn't for casual modders

It's impossible to do worse.

HEre's a disjointed list of python files and .dat files.
Am I supposed to be a fucking mind reader?
I love FOSS but I also hate FOSS.
