I had all kinds of issues while installing this mod to master/0 folder. By issues I'm saying the mod did not change the textures of the button layout over the xbox layout. Maybe the problem was that I should have ran the batch (.bat) command as administrator(?). As a workaround I extracted textures0.dat and ds4.dat files and copied the content of ds4 folder to textures0 folder. I packed the textures0 folder back as .dat file and copied it to the game folder.
Use the QAR tool to extract those. Drag texture0 and ds4 .dat files to qar_tool.exe, and make sure that those files aren't in an archive (7zip, WinRAR, etc.)
how do i remove the DS4_Native_ButtonIcons_DATver because the touchpad doesn't work anyways ps: i just reinstalled the whole game lol but thanks for the mod
Yeah, hopefully, someone will update this. I am really used to PS controls. I've been using the Xbox360 controller for quite some time now but i always messed up the game due to the confusion of the buttons. I don't like using the keyboard either. I'm thinking to maybe just use a 3rd party program that will emulate PS controls as a last resort =(
Not sure what I've done wrong, but I installed this mod and there seems to be a bug: During the prologue, no matter what control or action I'm being taught (except 'X' button), it displays as 'Share' button. Take cover, reload, etc.: it always says 'Share' in the on-screen tutorial. Anyone else have this happen?
If you use the DS3/DS4 version, the mod still works! I used DjG545's method and it worked like a charm! I have DS4 icons right where I need them to be! Yay! Bit annoying that Kojima San couldn't have done this as an update, being as he was kind enough to provide proper DS4 support for Death Stranding, but hey ho, you can't have everything, even though he could probably afford to.
I'm happy whatever and I don't think they'll spring an update on us now, would they!?

but which control scheme should i use if i use l1 and r1 for aiming and shooting
i started playing games in the ps3 and ps2 era, back when the l2 and r2 buttons weren't as long and so people preferred to use the l1 and r1 buttons
do i use the inverted?
