Hi, so when I add the full red suit mod via tpftools, I have to always autofix it before implementing the texture. When I do so though, the texture in both the preview screen and in-game becomes black instead of red. Is there any way around this?
This one and the default armor have the same texture wrap, in theory you could install my HR version of the default suit, then manually replace the diffuse with the one in this tpf. That should do the trick. you'll need to extract the textures out of the tpf using tpfextract or the likes. The default suit can be found in Texplorer using the search function, look for HMF_ARM_ASHa_Diff click change, browse to the extracted diff, replace and hit Save Changes.
In response to post #44683815. #44822230 is also a reply to the same post.

I had this same idea, so I tried it. I loaded the white-and-red file from here in TPF Tools, extracted all the DDS files, switched over to Texplorer, searched for "HMF_ARM_ASHa," and replaced the diffuse with the extracted file. I ended up with a shiny white-and-gray outfit. So I went back and tried replacing the normal and specular textures as well. That time the white looked fine but the red parts (sleeves, legs, sides of the torso) were an odd, shiny orange color. It looked pretty bad, so I decided to experiment a bit.
I tried the same replacement method, only with the all-red alt variant from here. Replaced the diff, norm, and spec files again. This time I ended up with a bright, deep red on top of slightly reddish-gray sleeves and legs. Still not quite right, but it didn't look bad.
I don't know what the problem is with the color on the arms and legs--maybe I shouldn't be replacing the norm and spec files? But that didn't seem to make sense to me, since those three files, in all my experience with modding, are always created to work together. I probably could've done more testing, but I decided red-on-gray looked good enough and just stuck with the 2nd attempt. Figured I'd just relate my experience, in case someone else wants to try figuring it out.
EDIT: Oh, I was using ME3Explorer v3.0.0. Don't know if that matters.
Hello Ottemis, Wonderful work. You people are really amazing. Do you think you could tell me what method you used for the red colour change, since I would like to change Miranda's white uniform to Red, perhaps some parts to yellow? I've tried Photoshop but the colour replacement tool does not work as desired. I would not mind if someone like Yourself did it since you do a awesome job, but as long as it's not available for download I need to try it myself, plus it would be good to know since the Miranda HR version lost some crucial details of original appearance. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks a lot in advance.
I would suggest you select the area you want recoloured in Photoshop (with the lasso tool for instance) and copy it onto a new layer. If the part you are looking to recolour is white, you'll need to add value to the area by lowering the brightness. Value is defined as the relative lightness or darkness of a colour. Read about that here
Then add colour to it: Create another new layer and paint the colour you want ontop of the armor bits you just changed brightness on, then change that layers channel mode to colour, so that it'll overlay the colour overtop the diffuse details.
G'day Ottemis, Your are truly a mod Goddess, I agree with ELE08... so it's a bit hard not to like your texutres... Thnx, I've looked at Photoshop, but it might require more knowhow, less than for dummies, but still... or as I have only PS Elements11... however I really much appreciate your kindness, I think the best we can do in life is to use our special skills and qualities to benefit others, just as You all who do these great mods and tools are already doing...
The activity of forums on ME3 seem to have dried out by now, but I've just noticed there is this ME3Nexus Forum that's still going... I have two more questions, one regarding Samantha and the other one is on mesh swap bones conflicts troubles... thus if do not get ahead there could I ask You in a message or something, since you know everything... just that I do not want to occupy the space on your mods' page with not too related issues. Either way thanks a lot very much, You put me in the right direction. Best of all to You.
Can this be used as a mod for femshep as well?I absolutely LOVE this design and am kind of going for a totally modded crew and squad, and this would set a uniform look throughout my ship.
girlplaysgames has a good Ash mod, but nothing like this.
Not right out of the box, even if someone has created a meshmod for femshep of this outfit then it's still a considerable amount of work to adjust the textures for the new mesh-slot and there's a good chance it won't look exactly the same due to a possible mismatch in material assignments for whatever slot you want to replace.
You know.....I was really hoping you weren't going to say that. I have all of her tutorials, and have started looking at yours as well now...but at this point I think the only way I can get this color scheme for my femshep, and that of the Miranda white/black/yellow armored uniform is to do it in Photoshop....
I was attempting to install the by request full red version of Ash's CE armor via ME3 Explorer and it's coming up with an error on the HMF_ARM_ASHe_Diff. Something about format? I don't know nearly enough about modding to even try to fix any errors. I also noticed, and this is verrry minor, two other files are coming up with a MIPS error: Ashley2Glow and Ashley2. I think I also saw that with one of your EDI files and one of your Liara files, although right at this moment, I don't know the exact files.
Other than that...I really like your stuff and how easy you've made it for all of us to figure out how to mod ME3.
Otte, you are a Goddess. This looks so... reeeeaaaal.... Amazing work. I don't know how I missed it before. Now that I've re-vanilla'd due to my me3tree for some reason being incompatible with newest ME3Xpl rev... well, I'm pulling latest mods/tpfs all around.
This is beautiful.Taks mycket... (I don't speak Dutch ;-)
By high exception as I don't normally take recolour requests, I will if you can specify what you'd like exactly =) Would you like the red version to apply to the Collector's Edition of the armor or the Default uniform aka only selectable in the squad-selection screen on missions or do you want her to always wear it? The wrap is the same so I can do either.
I assume by all red you would just like all the white elements to be recoloured yes?
I just want to thank you. I have been getting your wonderful mods off of BSN for a long time now, and my game looks so much better for it. Now I see you are on one of my favorite mod sites, all the better
As far as this mod in particular, I was never really fond of this outfit at all. But this mod is making me take a look at it again.
Again, thank you for making and sharing these mods with us. You have a gift to be sure.

And I have like ZERO clue how to do that.

Edit: It's up. Enjoy.

I just came here to say what Keen already said. And endorsed, of course.
