    Sticky
Toolset revision information (Juli 17th 2014)

Currently rev 653 on the SVN is the most stable build. I'd advise everyone to use it for .mod / .tpf application and creation.

    --

The most recent version is current 654. This is the first update featuring a large overhaul of the tools written by KFreon meant to pull functionality of TPF Tools, Texplorer and Modmaker inline across all three Mass Effect games. This revision is in testing stages and is NOT MEANT for simple mod application

If you would like to help testing this new revision that would help further development greatly.
You can keep a second copy of the toolset alongside your 'main' revision and pick/choose which version to start up depending on what you're looking to do. If you updated without realizing and have run into issues, please roll back your toolset rev. You can redownload the 653 revision via Tortoise SVN and place your tree back.

I'm getting a MIPS error for Ashley0Glow and Ashley0. I've tried using Photoshop's DDS plugins and the DirectX Texture Tool to change the surface format (photoshop generated MIPS, but the Texture Tool had that option greyed out), but nothing seems to be working. Read through all the troubleshooting guides, not sure what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: When I select those 2 DDS files in TPFTools, they say that they have TPF MIPS but not Tree MIPS...not sure if that helps...

The squadmate images are a constant pain in the ass, as they should be processed with or without MIPS and autofix should work on them, but it's been hit and miss for months (and me fixing it several times one way or the other). It's good to report this on the toolset forums if you are using the latest version of the toolset (SVN). This mod was last fully compatible with the SF (653) but autofix should be able to sort out any incompatibility through further toolset development.

For the moment you can remove them from the list in TPF Tools before running the mod, they are not necessary, just gravy as they make sure the squad selection screen reflects the small visual changes I made to the armor.

Did you follow the TPF Tools Article to the letter? So, you wait for it to completely load in when you open it, then you let it check valid formats first and match the textures (and it should show all as matched) then hit install all valid?
If you did and it gets stuck installing the jobs, that's likely something either specific to your setup/installation or a problem with ME3Explorer itself. Do you have this issue with any TPF you try to permanently install?

Did you rescan tree when you updated your REV and start applying on a vanilla game? There are some issues with the current incarnation of TPF Tools, they are close to releasing an update for italong with more bugfixes, it's likely this will sort your issues out. Honestly I'm advising anyone with issues using TPF Tools on the latest REV to wait out the update and/or report issues straight to the ME3Explorer bugreport forums.

Wait what do you mean by REV, me3explorer is copy/paste there is no install i got it from sourceforge and by tree you mean Developer tools => Texplorer, right ? and if so when i try to scan Texplorer it gives me if i want to scan with or without DLC. Is there any other way to permanently install TPF mod files with latest ME3explorer or maybe there is some other way to do it ? also im still learning when it comes to ME3 mods and their tools... so far as i can see from your reply the best thing to do is to just wait for update on me3explorer, right ?

      Thanks

ME3Explorer is a tool still under development, I explain the basics in my first time setup guide here:
      http://ottemods.blogspot.nl/2013/09/guide-me3explorer-first-time-setup.html
In essence REV = revision. The Sourceforge release is not the most recent REV, the latest sourceforge release is from the 12th of februari which is REV 600. The SVN version of ME3Explorer is more often updated and true to development status, most current there is REV 606 atm. The 'installation' is the same though the filestructure is slightly different between the two. With both you can run into bugs, the SVN is just the more up to date release.

The tree is indeed generated the first time you open Texplorer. You can pick to scan with or without DLC, and the generated tree will load in on consecutive runs. The TPF Tools are used for the permanent replacement of textures stored in texmod tpf files. There are currently some bugs with the tool (in both the SVN and SF release of the toolset). When you run into issues it's best to try the SVN release and update it when there are bugfixes through the newer revisions. Atm the toolset is in flux as they have recently introduced a big change in the way texture mods are applied, meaning it's possible you'll run into bugs when trying to permanently replace textures right now.

I've been using Otte's textures for a while. But I never had the chance to say 'thanks' since I'm not registered in SBW.
Thanks for your work and for the tutorials, I'll start to use ME3Explrer with this

IMO, Ottemis is the best texture artist for ME3. I'll endorse when I can! Thanks!!

Yeah removed the garter on the squad-screen too. I'll never understand them thinking that was a good idea =/
