Just want to say good work on your mods. I am using all of them and they work really well. Any chance you could let me know if you have a vanilla coalesced file (when relating to graphics appearance changes) and a vanilla gamersettings file?

If your files are not vanilla and you have some changes to improve the look of the game, could you let me know which edits you made to coalesced.ini or gamersettings.ini?

It might be easier to upload them. I would feel better using your files, knowing that my game looks best or as good as yours. Something about my game does not look as good as your screenshots for all your files.

I usually try not to comment asking for help, because I'm often able to find answers buried somewhere and I also don't like burdening people. However, I'm having a difficult time trying to add the N7 hoody to my game using ME3Explorer. I chose that method because I was able to add some shirts for Kaidan last night (I'm not trying to add the hoody to Kaidan's attire, don't worry, strictly for Shepard). That's the only reason I'm trying to use ME3Explorer. The method didn't work with the hoody unfortunately. I'm not sure why, I followed this topic for TPF files https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1388316-me3explorer-using-the-tpf-tools/

It's entirely possible I have no clue what I'm doing, although it's a good sign when I can follow each step exactly. That's always reassuring to me. I'm very confident at modding games like Skyrim, but ME3 is completely foreign to me. So I'm expecting some bumps along the way.

I think the version I'm using is 653 because that's the one I needed to make Kaidan's outfit work. I think I saw you mention that version or 654.

I followed your Texmod Tutorial up until the ME3 method because Media fire wouldn't let me download the .rar containing texmod.bat and texmod.exe. It said the download was deemed dangerous. I haven't given up on seeing if I can find a download on Google, but I wanted to ask if you or anyone knows where I can find that file so I can make sure it's safe, and continue with your tutorial.

Since I was able to accomplish my goal last night using ME3Explorer, would you suggest sticking with that, or should I try to get Texmod to work? I don't mind permanently replacing files.

[edit] I wanted to add that I did make sure I'm using the right gender oriented hoody. Also, I noticed a feature that lets me save the analyzed .tpf file as a .mod file, and since that's how I added Kaidan's shirts, I'm going to see if that makes a difference. I might have commented prematurely... sorry.

[edit2] Sooo... I'm sorry this is already so long, and I'm going to make it longer. I'm very sorry. I wanted to explain the ME3Explorer process that I found to work, in case that's needed. The tutorial on that I found basically said to Check PCConsoleTOC.bin, and add any updates as the first step. The next step was using the Mod Maker tool to "Load Jobs" and then "Run All" once I found my .mod file. Then it just had me repeat the first step again. And that worked with the shirts last night. Not sure if it's supposed to work here or if I'm doing something wrong.

I can't really make out from your story what exactly is going wrong. You haven't attempted to either install it with TPF tools or as a converted .MOD using ModMaker yet, I assume? I see no mention of specific error messages or so. I also assume you own the collectors edition or have the hoodie unlocked through coalesced editing? This mod simply replaces the textures, it doesn't add the hoodie to the locker if it's not already there.

If you have a texture tree (you open Texplorer to create on on a fresh game install), you can use ME3Explorer TPF tools to directly load and install the tpf. The guide on using TPF Tools on-forum is mine and applies to rev 653, it is outdated for the newest version of the toolset.
Whether you are using 653 or the latest release 3.0.1 should in theory not make a difference, as this is a texture mod and not much changed for the texture tools. No need to convert it to .MOD, it doesn't add anything.

If you are using any custom DLC mods that add outfits to the locker, those might interfere with this mod. TPF tools will show it successfully installed the textures, but the vanilla hoodie will still show in-game because textures in the files of those DLC mods are prioritized over the textures that the tpf has replaced. In this case, you will need to add that custom DLC to your tree, so my textures can be applied to them. To do this however, I think you need to use the latest version of the toolset (v3.0.1). It will allow you to simply scan any custom DLC and add it to your pre-existing tree. Guides on use are on the ME3Explorer Official Wiki.

Remember that you CAN use two version of the toolset to install mods, but you need to do your initial treescan on a vanilla install of the game with both versions, assuming the trees are not compatible between versions. I think there was a change to tree-scanning between rev653 and v3.0.1 that prohibits you from copying your 653 tree over for use in 3.0.1, but I could be wrong there. It's been a while since I used 653 myself.

The mediafire link to the .bat file download in the tutorial is mine. That's my mediafire account they are hosted on. I don't see why it would pop you a warning the files might be harmful, aside from it including a .exe (texmod), but it should be rarred if I remember correctly, so that is curious. If you prefer I can re-upload just the .bat in a zip and give you a fresh link.

If you need more specific help don't hesitate to ask. I will try best I can, up to a point where a forum reference becomes more fitting than settling things over comments or PM here, but I am also active on the ME3Explorer Forums so if you do go there, I can follow up with you.

It works. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it WAS something to do with the tree.bin.

The shirts mod I installed last night came with a me3tree.bin, so just in case something was wrong with that, I moved my vanilla back and tried your mod, and now it works. I also reinstalled the shirt mod and that works too. I'm not sure what that all means, but thank you so much for mentioning that. I hadn't thought of the tree.bin.

And sorry I typed so much. I always try to include as much detail as possible... but as it turns out it just becomes more confusing. But again, thank you, your texture looks so much better! XD

No worries, we figured it out. Enjoy and happy gaming =)
Btw, If you could direct me to that Kaidan shirt mod, I'll contact them and ask if they can forego adding a tree with their download as it's bad practice for exactly this reason.

Especially seeing how treescanning with 3.0.1 only takes up to 30 minutes or so, and you'd only need to do it on initial setup.

I realize this is very old now however I have a slight issue.

I want to use your texture but I have already screwed up the hoodie with a failed installation.
    How can I repair that?

Do you have this as a MOD which I could use to overwrite the failed one, I only saw a TPF in the file.

      Not an option unfortunately.
I did this a long time ago and I have played Femsheps exclusively for all that time.

I had no idea that something I did here screwed up the males because the fems all worked perfectly.

I'll keep looking there must be a mod that changes this armor somewhere.
I appreciate the fast response, thank you.

Sorry don't know exactly what you're trying to say. This is a texture modification only and is available as a .tpf, which can be used with both Texmod and ME3Explorer's TPF Tools.

Make sure you follow the setup instructions for the toolset, if you don't generate a texture tree you can't permanently install textures.

Do you have to have the collector's edition to use this mod? I mean if I don't originally have the possibility to dress my Shepard in a hoodie, would this mod work or does it need any specific files?

The Hoody is a CE reward, if you don't have the CE you can unlock it through Gibbed ME3 Savegame editor, just download the top link if you don't have it yet. Start Gibbed through "../bin/Gibbed.MassEffect3.SaveEdit.exe", load in whichever save you want to unlock the outfit on, then open the following tabs: Plot - Mass Effect 3 - Armor - Flags
You'll see an entry called "Unlocked N7 Commemorative Hooded Jacket", check that box, save your edited save and you're golden.
Any consecutive save from that edited save on will have the hoody unlocked, you don't have to keep redoing it.
Here's an image of the window in Gibbed.

I havent begun to mod my game other than a helmless spirit armor, but thank you for the save editor, I didn't know it existed. Now I dont have to pay for virtual armor and items.

@ devlincousland: Not a clue, even without a savegame loaded i have all tabs visible. I'd say redownload Gibbed, wouldn't know what else to suggest.

You should put that note about the unlock for the CE edition on the description page - the save game edit worked perfectly and Shepard looks awesome in that hoody!! Thank you! Saw it in the Youtube videos and had to have it!

This is a great texture, really brings the life out of the fabric in the hoodie. Though I have one teensy complaint in that it's missing the 4 horizontal black lines just below the elbow on the right arm. Just a small detail that bugs me.

I would really love to see that mod come to light.
It would be a lot easier ( and safer ) to use a mod, instead of add these lines to gibbed.
I tried it before, and for some reason it corrupted my save game, that shepard was stuck under the ground. xD

If you want the armor but don't want to gibbed it in, you could have bought the approrpiate version of the game to obtain it legally. I atleast won't be releasing a mesh mod just for those that don't own the CE and didn't want to upgrade to the CE/Digital Deluxe. It's only a couple of euro's/dollars on Origin.

It's the Mohawk hairmesh using Vega's hairtexture, then the texture off the Formal Spike CC hairstyle on the scalp. I've edited that one thought to get that shaven up effect but that mod is not release ready as it's make specifically for his haircolour and doesn't really translate to any of the others.

But yeah sans the shaven effect you can do it all with gibbed:
      Hair Mesh: BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Hair_Mohawk.HMM_HIR_Mhk_MDL
      Hair_Diff: BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Hair_James.HMM_HIR_James_Diff
      Hair_Mask: BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Hair_James.HMM_HIR_James_Diff
      HED_Scalp_Diff: BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Hair_Spalding.HMM_HIR_Spa_Diff
      HED_Scalp_Spec: BIOG_HMM_HIR_PRO_R.Hair_Spalding.HMM_HIR_Spa_Mask

It's a bit redundant as they changed the Mohawk and added it to the CC for Maleshep in ME3, but that never used to be the case so the method is 'left over' from ME2 really.

Hey Ottemis, you say it's not release ready, does this mean you are still working on it? Also I was having some difficulties cause a few of those options aren't available?

Was not planning to prep it for release as I'd have to stick quite some effort in to get it to work properly with all hair colours. If you really want it though I can put it on my to-do list. I have a functional custom crewcut for femshep atm that I might be able to borrow, saves having to do all that work again. I'll look into it.

I'm afraid not hun, there's no Mesh-modding for ME1, only ME3. I also don't believe there's a mesh in ME1 that this texture or an adjustment of it could comfortably go on.
