About this mod

This mode brings back the old 'immense' map, without doing away with the 'ludicrous' map. Basically, the 'tiny' map is gone, and all maps just shifted up to larger maps. Also there are a few minor changes to map characteristics. These should not significantly affect your game.

GENERAL PANTS' RETURN OF THE IMMENSE MAP MOD

This mod was created in response to the increase of the maximum map size to 'ludicrous.' I always play on large maps, but my poor little computer can't handle a ludicrous map, and the nerfing of the old 380-hex map annoyed me. This mod KEEPS the new 'ludicrous' map, restores the old 'insane' map size as the 'excessive' map, and bumps every map up such that the 'tiny' map is the equivalent of the old 'small' map. So, the old 'tiny' map is gone.

A few other tweaks were added as well:

- The base number (number of stars) was tweaked using the correlation of the old values to the natural logarithm of the number of hexes on the map. This resulted in relatively minor increases of 100-200. I find the galaxies a little underpopulated, and this worked very well pre-Crusade on my crummy little laptop.

- The maximum number of habitable planets was also modified using the correlation of the old values to the natural logarithm of the number of hexes on the map. This resulted in modest increases of at most just over 130. Again, in my experience, even low-end computers can handle this.

- The minimum number of precursor worlds was increased to 20 for 'ludicrous' maps but, as Horevmore will tell you, it doesn't matter anyway.

- The number of ascension points was increased for 'ludicrous' maps to 12000, to keep with the pattern of the other maps.

- The rift chance, which is meaningless anyway, was increased to 1.00 for all maps. Why? I don't know, symmetry I guess.

This is a very simple mod, and should not affect gameplay in any significant way. Really all it does is give you your old 'insane' map back. The other changes are minor and, in my experience pre-Crusade, don't matter much at all.
