    how to use :
    1. put patch.dat and .fat in the same folder as the tool
    2. drag patch.dat onto the unpack.exe, you got the unpacked folder
    3. make the modification to the unpacked folder with your mod
    4. drag the unpacked folder to pack.exe when you're done

Hello guys, i was just wondering: is the convertbinaryobject executable also used for combining FC3 and FC3 d3d11 dlls from different mods, like you can do with patch files? for example, i want to use ziggy's mod and the immersive sounds mods at the same time, but both of them have fc3 dll files which override one another. how do i do that?

edit: even though immersive sounds has support for dziggy's mod, i still wanted to know... might be useful in the future for me and everyone else that visits this thread.

Bring the patch.DAT and .FAT (far cry 3/Data -win32) to a new folder that you will create (we will from there on that end)

create another new folder and bring the dunia2 winrar or zip into it, we will work with it from a new folder on that end as well. both ends from new folders you create

right click and "extract here" the dunia2 winrar or zip whichever you have. You should now see little dunia2 folder freshly extracted in our new folder

left click and hold to drag the patch.DAT to the dunia2.unpack application (inside the bin folder) in order to unpack the .DAT file and allow you to insert the raw files from any MOD into it manually (you just drag it over the application and let it go it will automatically grab it and convert it back to where you dragged it from)

Once dunia2 is done doing its thing you will see folders being created (remove the extension it adds to its name like "unpacked or altered or modified" and simply rename to just "patch" remove any underscores as well if it creates one in the name) you rename the fresh folder to "patch" without the quotes of-course i swear i will smack you

you can now delete the old patch.DAT and .FAT file you will no longer need them, from here on out we will work with the freshly created folder that dunia2 created for us and that we renamed "patch"

from there you can navigate where to bring the files from the MOD you downloaded, in this instance (snow white goes tactical) directly inside the fresh "patch" folder. read the README in this mod it will guide you where to go exactly

once you have altered it to your desire drag the "patch" folder to the dunia2.pack application (inside bin folder) in order to repack the modded folder into the right format (the .DAT format) it will automatically format it and recreate a patch.FAT simultaneously as well

once that is done you can now bring both modded files (patch.FAT & patch.DAT) back to your game directory (back to the farcry3/Data_win32)

FINALLY someone released a guide on how to use this program in the basic!
This kind of guide took you, i bet, no more then 5-10 minutes tops to make...

And yet, makers of tools like these don't seem to be smart enough to make a simple guide like this to share with their program.

A guide like this, allows nearly anyone able to learn how to mod, and it might, also in the future encurage someone to become an actual programmer, because they get to mess with the code of the actual game they love.

About a year ago from today i finished my time in an IT school where i would learn how to work as a Tech support or Programmer or something of the like.
And i learned that programming is WAY beyond me. It's logic is to much in conflict with my own.
Also gave me a deeeep respect to those who can wrap their heads around programming and, for instance, make programs like this Dunia2 Tool.
But it also pisses me off when the programmer is to lazy to finish their work with a simple guide on how to operate it.

Sorta like someone makes a doom/peace machine.
7 buttons. But no instructions. Just some very non-descriptive words associated with each button.
Water. Pressure. Cold. Vacuum. Test_Me. Hold. Release.
Can you solve this and bring peace to the world? if not, you bring doom!

That is how i see these programs, No instructions, just vague file names and obscure activities when activated.
For all anyone knows, you could have just installed a virus...

But any ways... Thanks for the simple guide vbiguine!

How are we suppose to know what this is? "farcry 3Tools" dont really tell us anything.........
How to install? I dont understand why you guys just naturally expect us all to know exactly what to do with this..... I guess ima just go and start clicking s#*! and experament to find out. Would have been nice to read what this actually does...
Sorry but Im annoyed and constantly seeing this situation.

Well, there really isn't a need for a tutorial on something like this. I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but if you don't know what this is and how to get it working, then you have no business using it in the first place. If you didn't come about these files on purpose, then don't worry about it. Explaining exactly what's going on with these tools would require that you have at least a decent understanding and background in CS. At a very basic level, these tools allow for you to unpack and edit XML, DAT, FAT, and DLL files that have been coded and compiled in the Dunia 2 Game Engine. These game files have a very complex and unique way of associating with each other, the game engine, and your computer. These tools allow for you to open them in a readable and organized format, and then recompile them in the appropriate order. It is way more complicated than I just made it sound, but there's your explanation. If you need a UI to use these files, you can either learn how to use Visual Studios or download any of the numerous links to UI versions posted here. Again though, you really shouldn't be using these tools if you don't know what you're doing. And nobody here has time to explain to you the ins and outs of computer science.

I wish there was just one tutorial on how to merge just TWO mods into one mod.

      As do I.

In fact I came here specifically to learn how to merge No Eagles and FC4 Attachments Mod plus Ceanos Better Sights using this tool.

Once I learned how to do that I'd likely add in more but for now those 2 are at the top of my list. Perhaps it'd be easier if I were using "simpler" mods? I doubt it but possible so I mentioned the names in case I AM trying to take on too much at once.

      REPLY TO Ahzeem

I think you completely misunderstood is the problem altogether!

I think, and if right, agree that often tools like these don't come wtih a simple guide on say, how to unpack your files, so you can mess with them, and when done, pack them up again.

I more then likely believe he isn't interested in HOW the coding of this program works, but more on how to use it for basic game modding.

The problem i often see with modding tools is they are released with NO instructions on how they are used. (Not how they work)
Do you drag certain files unto other files to make the magical coding do it's magic,
or do you run the program as it is and direct it to certain files?
Or do rename the files first before doing the above before it'll work?
Or what about the need to download 1-4 other programs first before the program would work? (failing to do so, crash?)
Or perhaps you run the game, alt+tab, run the program so it can see the files needed.
Instructions on how to use, not how it works in the code, should be a given for anyone making tools like these.
      A standard.
And the guide needs not to be super complex.
Just informative enough that anyone can, with average knowledge of working and navigating files and folders of their OS, use the program and make great content for everyone to enjoy.

I hope i make my point.

I could go on and on, but at this point it just be assumptions and rudeness. So for both our sake, i won't continue.

listen buddy I think you need to stick your nose up your ass and shut up. everyone has got to start somewhere and putting them down just because you apparently know more about fancy file extensions and abbreviations to programming languages doesn't make you more superior in any way. shout out to those beginners, keep it up!

When I try to open one of your tools, the cmd popps up and closes immediately.
    Any suggestions?

I dont think we ever find a solution of these problems, it also keeps crashing, so i think they made it to crash so they can be the only modders to Far Cry.

It seems I've managed to figure it out.

I have all my spiffy scopes and attachments AND eagle attacks seem to be a thing of the past.

Oh sure populace still crap themselves in terror while shouting for help and the eagles DO keen and swoop but at the last moment they abort the attack as if belatedly realizing there's no way in hell they're flying off with prey that large.

Best of both worlds since I can still hunt them for their feathers and no longer have to drop what I'm doing in order rescue people every 300 yards or so.

    In response to post #20325154.

    Yup

I have to disagree, the tools only work if you still have the preload data, for the actual game it doesn't.

I may not have tried all the archives, but about half - it crashes halfway through unpacking, and many files are corrupt.

Do the tools work with Far Cry 4 as well since they both use Dunia 2?
