Steam Overlay Browser (add it as Non-Steam game (thx for the hint)) or a second PC might be an efficient method to use it.

adding non steam game can only select .exe

Yo dog we put a second pc next to your pc so you can hack pcs on your pc

(Smartphone is always great option if steam overlay isnt)

I have vision problems, and find the hacking mini-game a pain since I have to really focus up close to my monitor to try and "guess" during the hacking process. So I was looking for something that would at least make it bearable. But I cannot figure out what this mod does. Or the link to the webpage.

When I type in a word, on the website, for example, all it does is show me a list of words... a list that gets shorter as I type.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how this makes it easier to guess which is the proper password for a given terminal. As we all know, when I choose "any" word on the terminal screen, it will then tell me (in-game) the "likeness" to the real password, as compared to the word I chose. I then try to find other words that have similarities to that word. How does this tool (or the website from the link) help me do this?

In other words.. would someone please explain exactly how to use this tool, or the site from the link, to make hacking a little more bearable?

The Mini-Game works like the board game Mastermind. The likeness tells you how many right letters are in the right position. So is the Password SYSTEM and you type CUSTOM, the likeness is 3 because __ST_M are identical. All my Program do is filter all words with the length and the likeness number. Any word in the list can be the password and for every new attempt, the list will be smaller.
      My workflow with my program
      1. Choose any word.
      2. Type the word and the likeness number on the website.
      3. Try tipping another word from the minigame on the website. If the website can autocomplete it, choose it and type the likeness number. If not try another.
      4. Repeat 3 until you have the password.

After reading this I now understand how your creation works.
Its absolutely brilliant and no chance of a ban of any sort (not that there banning people for client side mods anyway)
      Thanks :D

This is a pretty cool app! Kudos for creating it!

I've noticed in game that sometimes you are presented with puzzles for which there are no correct solutions (comparing the reported "likeness" with the remaining possible solutions)
Took a few screenshots and bugged it at bethesda.

I hate the hacking minigame so much but unfortunately this doesn't help at all as it gives you a even bigger list of possible words than what appear on screen, and there is no method of refining the list via attempts, it's a nice tool but sadly it's not the most helpful as the words aren't even sorted alphabetically and you're still playing a guessing game.

the tool has a live filter while you type. since you can only type words with a chance to success, after 1 to 3 letters you know which word it isn't. with my workflow, I never really look at the complete filtered list, since just typing ist faster than scrolling through thousand words. but I am open for suggestions. I could implement, that you can type wrong words, but they change colour to red, so you know they have zero chance to win (for more freedom to refine the list). also, an alphabetical sorting is an easy task. I just don't use the complete list directly, so it doesn't come to my mind.

I have updated the program, so you can use words without a chance to win to refine the list. I recommend using a word with a chance to win for optimal results, but hey, I'm not your boss : )
Also, the list is now alphabetically sorted.

I am not sure how. Maybe its enough to add a dummy field, so you can open the keyboard? I will look at it when I have the time, but I can't promise anything.

In theory you could use the steam launcher to launch F76 as a non steam game, which from my tests did allow for screenshots through steam, and the overlay aswell.
