I'd just rather wait for overhaul mods AFTER the CK comes out.

Many thanks for the patches - certainly makes it convenient as I like his work a lot but simply don't want to use AE. Appreciate the work you are doing for the rest of us

Hey since you guys all like to not use AE, can one of you explain the differences? Like for example, what is the difference between AE and Armor Keywords ? I've been using AE since it was released, so I'm not really sure if I even NEED to use it. Can I get away with just Armor Keywords ?

I guess what I'm asking is this: if I just want to add ballistic weave and maybe a legendary mod on an outfit, do I need AE for that ? I've also been using Legendary Modification for a long time, too. I'm all for cutting down on my mod load list.

Also to ask: if I were to make an outfit mod that lets the user apply ballistic weave and a legendary buff, would my mod "conflict" if the user was also running AE ? Because that's what I don't want, is mod conflict. Especially since I'm only uploading super simple outfit mods, you know ?

AE is not responsible for the Vanilla way of Legendary Modifications. Without AE, you will need to use console commands. But, using AE also gets rid of the need to make your own modifications (or use vanilla lists that may seem weird (double mods)). So really, if you make the original clothing AE and, of course, AWKCR, you include modifications from those two mods. It's just some people (I included) don't need/want to use those other mods at this point in time. I edited someone else's mod to get rid of the AWKCR requirement. So, It's really up to you. It's not a big deal to change the requirements, it just reduces the capability of the outfit.

I am probably the worst one to answer these questions since I don't know a lot about it - most of my modding has been simple scripts, tweaks, and followers using the CK in Skyrim. I can at least explain why I wish to avoid using AE and why I don't mind using AWKCR:

For AWKCR it is a small mod really - basically adds a crafting station and keywords and that's it. I consider it lightweight in that regard and if you don't have any mods that use it then it doesn't affect anything. It also doesn't make any real changes to vanilla items. Just seems less invasive and more optional to me. The files to install are minimal and small.

PLus with just AWKCR you can craft items at its work bench without needing to console them in - I have a collected armor/clothing mod from Elinora and she only requires AWKCR. And I can craft all her stuff at the workbench that comes with AWKCR.

AE, on the other hand, overhauls a lot of vanilla content in a way I don't want. I consider it over powered in some ways letting you wear everything you want and add BW to everything. Also overhauls the clothing modding system from scratch and adds a lot of new content I either don't want or prefer to not have in my game. Then there are just so many files in the download section and patches - reminds me of sorting through all of Vurt's SFO files for what I need. Lastly it is just a big mod with a lot of files to install and it feels more invasive. Since the GECK is not out I am focused on simple mods right now. After the GECK comes out I may rethink things.

All that being said I can't stress enough that I think the mod is very well done (based on talking to folks, my own review of it, reading comments, and its endorsements) and an excellent service to everyone. My concerns with it are not meant to be a negative criticism in general. It is just my own personal likes/dislikes and cautions right now. In a nutshell I just want simple mods with low footprints and I have never liked overhaul mods in general, for any game.

I like how Elinora did it - she does require AWKCR which I don't mind as it is nice to be able to craft your own armor - but that is a small thing compared to AE. Yet there are also AE patches for it for those who want to use her collections with AE. Best of both worlds IMO.

Of course I think I am in the minority considering the endorsements and downloads of AE but I have never been one to jump on the bandwagon just because its popular.

Just old-fashioned, old gamer, who likes lore friendly stuff and tends to stick somewhat close to vanilla. Except for Danse and the BOS - man did they screw that whole thing up :p Luckily I0Bjhansen0 had a nice fix for that as well.

I think you may need it for BW though. I looked up LM as I had never used it. Think that is needed if you want to do what it does but that is a guess. You might be able to set it up to have an AE patch like Elinora did and then people could add BW if they wanted. Again a guess as I have never done anything like it nor used mods to do it.

Anyhow not sure if that helps - probably not :p Its my very opinionated opinion for what little its worth

brokefoot has all of his clothing with the ballistic weave and legendary mods. Using AE is a quick easy and simple way to put legendary mods on items. If you know what ID's to look for and you know how to put mods on items, you can easily do it yourself with or without AWKCR. I did forget about the overhaul stuff. I don't use it myself so I just covered the basics of what I could get from the esp. I guess I would say I don't want to jump on the bandwagon yet either. I have a terrible system to play Fallout 4 on (I can't even OC my CPU). So I'm trying to keep mods to a minimum but still using and making mods I WILL use.

The plugin in the "Railroad Renegade - Non-AE - AWKCR" version still appears to require ArmorKeywords.esm as a master.

I forgot to remove the AWKCR master from the non-AE/AWKCR Railroad Renegade patch. It should be fixed now.
