I really love the concept and the model of the turret, however, I feel like it still gives too much defense (1 less than the machinegun turret) and it feels a bit too cheap (1 of each mat).
I also noticed in VATS (with the extra info perk from perception) that the machinegun turret is lvl4, the heavy machinegun turret is, uh, 12 or 16 or something like that, while your turret is lvl20. I'm not sure how that relates to its strength.
I'm yet to see the turret in combat, but good job.
So.. Ive scrapped every pipe weapon I ever picked up. Literally, every single one. Now I have to scrap turrets too? If I was invading your town I would laugh as I slaughtered everyone while your weakass pipe turrets unloaded in to my body the entire time. Die dogmeat, die Preston!!! hahahahaha oh I can scrap these turrets...
