I was waiting for someone to make a mod similar to this! is there a way to make rudely skipping dialogue chance 100% instead of 0%?

There is no way of distinguishing from rude and nice interrupts at this point from what I can gather, only a general interrupt chance percentage which is what this mod modifies. I interpret what you said as a mod where any other type of interrupt is at 0% chance while rude interrupts is at a constant 100%. Once the CK comes out this will probably be a lot more likely. Would be nice to have an option for this.

Does F4SE or the CK allow you to capture any user's "skip dialogue" action, then trigger the "rude" interruptions (or simulate the specific user keypress required to only do rude ones)? You might even be able to use that same system to enable skipping of *any* dialogue line, including the huge amount of modded dialogue which seems to be unskippable (usually the last line before end of conversation, or before triggering some other action like opening a trade window).

The file is perfectly fine and still downloadable from Nexus CDN, I just verified. Try downloading it again, or try another mirror (though you might need to have Premium for that, not sure)

I use the silent protagonist (I prefer to think I talk like me than him. I'm a role player you might say) so had no idea the game did that if you cut them off. Interesting.

Another good mod would be one where the NPCs dont stop talking abruptly if the player character walks away. Make it like Skyrim where they would at least finish their sentence as I'm walking away.

That may well be possible, I think I saw some records that could play into this, I will look into when I have time at some point, thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, this would be great. I remember GTA5 (maybe even 4) had a good system for interrupting dialogue and then some generic lines to preface resuming dialogue: eg. a character might suddenly stop a voice line to yell "WATCH OUT!" as you get in a car crash, then after a beat, say something like "so as I was saying," before repeating the interrupted line. It seemed pretty cheap in terms of writer, voice actor & VO director time, and pretty simple in terms of coding, but had a massive impact on the believability of conversations.

As a higher-effort project, it'd also be so great to add cues for when you get far enough away (or look away from speakers for enough time) for them to say something like "...hello?" / "are you still listening?" / "I wasn't finished!" and then, after some brief further time, "we'll talk about this later" / "what the hell is *wrong* with that freak?" if it seems you've permanently disconnected from the conversation etc. The protag could then say generalised "you were saying?", "sorry about that" lines upon resumption <3 minutes later.

This is awesome! I hate being rude, even in games, and sighing at Preston feels very out of character. Thanks

Now that we know that it's possible to skip dialogue in non-insulting ways, you should make an opposite of this that increases the dialogue skip comment chance to 100% so that, if we so desire, we can hear our character's dialogue skipping lines all the time rather than waiting for random chance. I often skip right at the end of the NPC's sentence just to make a comment on what they said. It's a fun way to be more involved in the conversation.

I already did it[1], but I'd rather not steal your thunder and upload it because I just reverse-engineered your mod here. You did most of the work.

[1] Specifically, I changed fAIRandomChancePlayerInterrupt to 100, and reverted fDialogueDefaultInterruptPercent back to the vanilla value of 0.8. That seems to have done the trick. Skipping dialogue does seem to result in the PC saying their line 100% of the time, so I'm not sure what fDialogueDefaultInterruptPercent even does.

Please release it on the nexus and notify me when you do, I don't believe the author of this mod has any inclination to.

I've completely stopped playing Fallout 4 for months in anticipation of the CK so my apologies if my knowledge is less than perfect. Does this mod still function correctly with the newest patches, dlc, etc? Is it NMM compatible? Thank you in advance!

I actually had no idea about this until I read what user 'Abusive' wrote in the comments section here. While I still feel all interrupts are rude, some just less and some more, this warrants a little adjustment to the mod description to make it clear that all player character interrupts are lowered to 0%.

It's the same on PC, and I imagine all systems. The way your character interrupts is determined by the option being used to interrupt and follows the same tone as the options usually do.

Spaming 1 on PC is the top option and generally it's an inquisitive intterupt.
2 on pc is the left option and generally it's a sarcastic or neutral interrupt.
3 on pc is the right option and generally it's a rude as hell interrupt (calls the NPC freak and generally insults the NPC).
4 on pc is the bottom option and generally it's a progressive interrupt.

I might be in the minority here but I love the skipping dialogue. The only time it's rude is it you press B (don't know what it is on the keyboard) if you press Y it's things like huh or what. A is acknowledgement. And I forgot what X does. I always press B and laugh so hard I almost piss myself. Especially when skipping meeting Preston, "Minutemen? Jesus." Or making fun of mama murphy for being old lol! Though I'm sure some people would find this useful, like those who hate any voiced dialogue at all. So thanks for contributing to the community!

Woah. I actually had no idea that you can influence the type of interrupt your character makes in that way. Now that's a revelation. I have found that the tone has changed from rude to less rude when pressing the different buttons, but had not realized until you wrote this that it was really this distinct in different situations. Personally though I interpret all of these interrupts as rude as they feel so forced and out of place for my chosen player character at this time, whichever of the buttons I press. I think I may have to alter the mod description a bit due to this feedback. Thank you for bringing this to light!
