For anyone interested in more tweaks check out this link:  https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4316-fallout-4-useful-ini-settings/

    [Interface]
    fWorkshopRepeatTime=0.15

The above .ini edit worked for me, the edit suggested on this page did not

Could you please add a both-sides scrolling main build menu? Like from first to last.

    Hey roamwild,
Thanks a ton for providing this info. Its really nice having a list of tweaks and descriptions for each and along with what you prefer, and most importantly, all related to a certain subject/area that is clear what it is regarding to.

I'm wondering if you have any idea and could help me out with increasing the speed that you "scroll" through craftable items while in build mode? For example, when looking through all the different floors you can build. Now, im using keyboard and mouse and the mouse wheel doesn't scroll through items but instead adjusts distance (or height when holding shift). Idk if you use controller and if that'd even make a difference but,..

fDefaultFadePerSecond=1000.0000 (default) What you wrote about it seemed like that could affect scroll speed but it didn't for me. I also adjusted fKeyboardRepeatRate and holding down left/right didn't scroll through items any faster either. I have seen videos of ppl scrolling through that list much faster than I, but i can't say for sure if they were using controller or not.

Any help would be very appreciated, even if u just have the slightest idea.

TLDR: (sry) Wanting to increase speed in which u navigate between available items you can build while in "build mode". (Using keyboard/mouse)

You're welcome, glad to hear that my commenting was clear.
I really wish I had any good idea why these settings seem to make no difference for you. During my testing, this setting 'fDefaultFadePerSecond' made an obvious difference in scrolling speed both in Inventory and in the Workshop. I also use keyboard and mouse.

Maybe try increasing this to ridiculous values using the console and see whether it seems to make any difference?
      i.e. setini "fDefaultFadePerSecond:Interface" 8000.0000

Some of this might be system specific: for instance, a user posted below that my setting of 2000 was way too fast on his PC. Perhaps even your key-repeat settings in Windows are having an effect? (This should not be the case, as the game gets KeyDown and KeyUp events directly but may be worth a look). Just wild guesses at anything that might be related.

Good luck, and please let me know if you find anything - there are no other entries in the Fallout4.ini that (to me) are likely to have any impact on this sort of thing.

Edit: Less likely but still possible is that these settings no longer have an effect in latest versions of the game - I haven't personally played in a couple of months. I really doubt this is the case, though.

Hey man, thanks a lot for the reply. I will try changing it super high and see what impact that has and trying through the console. Now that you mention some of the things u said, i'm thinkin maybe the reason it wasn't changing for me has something to do with using Razer keyboard/mouse using "Razer Synapse", but i actually have a faint memory of changing windows key repeat settings and maybe changed a setting which doesn't allow other applications to alter the key repeat rate, (if there even is a setting that does that.)

Thank you for the help, i will write back if i discover anything.

Also, ever since an update (i think it was 1.4, maybe 1.3 tho), the setting to change rotation speed wasn't having an affect for me. I'm talking about when placing an item in workshop mode "fItemRotationSpeed=5.0000". I tried a few things but long story short, I was pretty sure it was because of the update. But i actually didn't mind it much once i found out that holding "E" also slows down the rotation speed. Which i haven't read anywhere so maybe it's new, but it helps a lot. Just thought you might like to know in case you didn't.

      // "Razer Synapse"
Such terrible software, I would honestly return my Ouroboros (which I really do like) if I could just to get rid of this bloated and obtrusive mess...

// Thank you for the help, i will write back if i discover anything.
My pleasure, your feedback and help is appreciated!

// Also, ever since an update [...] rotation speed wasn't having an affect for me. [...] i found out that holding "E" also slows down the rotation speed. Which i haven't read anywhere so maybe it's new, but it helps a lot. Just thought you might like to know in case you didn't.

I'll place your findings on the Description page, with a note that I will be updating the mod once I go back to the game and see that these settings no longer work for me, either. Thanks for the tip about holding 'E', I'll stick that up there too.

Thanks for the advice. Since the description page already contains a lot of keywords for searching, I changed the short description to something more descriptive: it now lists the most important changes. This should help people browsing through mods realize what these edits actually do. Any other suggestions are welcome.

What do the safezone settings do? I notice there is an optional file to reset the safezone values back to default. But I have no clue what safezone means or does? Please excuse my ignorance, haha.

Think I'll give this a try in the meantime, will be back to endorse if I like it.

Edit: I bet the safezone tweaks are in response to this post: "i used your bat initweak and now my hp bar is in far left bottom corner and ap is in far right bottom corner. I can't see them. Can u post a bat to put them back to vanilla?"

" Please excuse my ignorance, haha."
      No excusing necessary!

This page will explain it, pretty much: "Cornered HUD" by Pauldenton
"Moves the Hud elements more toward the corners and edges of the screen."

Also, you are correct: that is why I posted the .bat. Apparently none of the entries created / changed by using setini command actually save on their own, so the user was simply able to restart his game. I left the fix though cause there's no harm and it's such a tiny file I'm not worried about conserving server space.

Kudos for being the reasonable sort of person to read and research a bit too (reading comments)

Alright....took it for a spin and I like it and will endorse. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge, I know you had to experiment a lot to learn all this.

This isn't cookie cutter stuff people. Roamwild has researched and experimented with settings that improve his game. Everyone's setup is different, so you may have to adjust the settings, or pick and choose which of his edits work best for you, and leave out the ones you don't need or want.

Like another poster, the changes that worked for Roamwild with moving the Hud elements toward the corners (the "safezone" tweaks), didn't work for me, I couldn't see them anymore. So, I can either adjust the numbers for me, or ditch those .ini changes.

The only other setting that Roamwild used that doesn't work for me, is the setting for scrolling a list. With his settings, that baby flies on my PC. I can't just scroll down till I get to what I'm looking for, it's just a blur....LOL.

This is what I meant by it's not cookie cutter, plug and play, kind of stuff. You may have to adjust the numbers for your individual PC, but thanks to Roamwild, we know where to look, and what to adjust. And that is some invaluable knowledge that I thank him for sharing with us.

      Thanks for sharing, Roamwild. Endorsed.

You are too kind!To be honest I didn't really have to spend all that much time to find these things. I scrolled through the Fallout4.ini "dump", and picked out / copied "interesting" entries into a scratchpad. Most of those worked! The majority of these values are in common-sense units like milliseconds so it was pretty easy to imagine what might work for 'em.

It's a great point that you made about possibly having to tweak the values I've given to suit particular tastes/PC configs, gotta go back and check my Description to be sure that I include such advice.

We seem to share a mind on the sharing of knowledge though, it's one thing I love about the web: learning and collaboration is very rewarding, helps to have places like this as Dark0ne has provided and his Staff keep for us.

In short, it's my pleasure and you are quite welcome

Oh god please, somebody tell me how to reduce the amount of time it takes to exit a crafting workstation. It takes up to 7 seconds after I click "Exit" to get out of the Weapon Crafting table. Meanwhile, SuperMutants are destroying my turrets.

Seven seconds does seem like an inordinately long time. For me it used to be 2 - 3 seconds; after changing the WorkshopAnimTime and DefaultFadeTime entries, this was reduced to less than a second. I'm curious why it would not be working the same for you.

I don't understand the formatting of your ini file, what are the ; supposed to mean? Also some lines are repeated with different values, don't know what that means either. Perhaps you could clean up the file a bit so it's easier to read? Thanks!

These are comment lines and can be placed in the .ini file without being read by the game. I used them to record the default values and to provide a brief description of their effect(s).

Thank you for this new ini entrys.

i try them all out, they work like a charm.
Like specially that turning speed in Workshop Tweak.
It was way to fast. No more annoying repeating right, to much, left...again. GRRR

So thanks, i will DL the file to endorse....
