it'd be nice if we could get some manual install instructions for those of us who don't care for NMM. other than that this is something i'll definitely use when i can figure out where the files go.
As I'm sure he had to edit the .BGSM material files to do this, it *MAY* affect retextures if they also have edited the glow maps, or if they have edited the meshes (or if they changed the colors at the locations in the texture files where the glow from this mod is at).
Otherwise it *should* be ok.
Also, I'm with Noximilien - I know you were trying to show off the glow, but it's far too dark to really tell what's going on there, or even be 100% what parts are now glowing! n.nU
EDIT: Hmm, it didn't do any file overwrites with my other plasma weapons texture mods, so I will test it in game and post a screenshot here of what happens.
This only tells the .BGSM material to also use a separate _g glow map on top of the original texture, so changes to _d , _n, _s maps doesn't affect the glow as it's a separate texture. As UlithiumDragon said, edited glow maps will override this glow map.
I like the mod but has a lack record of realistic immersion can put a predetermined color plasma but the projectile plasma still green when as changed the merger of color plasma and that is not true to say thought that changed both hopefully what better with this my idea or other sensible people like me
Looks good on paper, I downloaded it only to find out it is really really not manual install friendly (I could spend an hour or so figuring out the proper folder paths to install this manually into the textures folder but glowy plasma isn't all that necessary atm.)
Some of you see this comment and are leik, "WHY MANUAL". The reasons why is because like any software written by anyone else the fomod install scripts have a tendency to do all kinds of unnecessary changes and whatnot. All without telling you.
And if your like me and tend to have a whole lotta mods all mashed into perfect sync this causes tons of issues. So I always manuall install. That way I know the exact file structure of my mods and games and in turn am able to fix compatibility issues allot more effectively. (Ive been around considerably longer than any 'mod management software')
In the end, I want to request from you the author a simple README or a few extra folders in the download to show where the textures need to go, something like.
DATA/TEXTURES/WEAPONS/(WHATEVER_PLASMA_GUNS_ARE_UNDER)/!!!GLOWING PLASMA FILES GO HERE!!!
Hope ya read this and thnx for the nifty textures and maps.
Ye, from the beginning I had normal folder structure but with FOMOD it didnt overwrite with the correct color I selected, so I changed it. Will upload a readme with instructions.
I don't know how to install this kind of mod i tryed anything i know about installing this one. but if it right can you tell me its Chrome Plasma is overwriting this mod?
The chrome plasma mod replaces the _d , _s and I think the _n maps. This mod adds _g glow maps and a material .bgsm file. It shoulnd't overwrite anything. The only compability issue seems to be that you get a non-reflection on the receiver part if you use it with chrome mods. Did you use NMM? It's super easy with FOMOD installer popping up where you just click the color you want in the installer.
I found out that the line you have to remove in the .bgsm to enable glow maps to work in turn disable the reflections on that mesh. So until I found out another way, iy seems to be either glow map or reflections, this issue is also on vanilla textures but in this case the reflections are cranked up to the maximum and therefore you see the issue much clearer.

Edit: I got to work now with Nexus mod manager but thanks for the help.
this does not play together with the Chrome skin ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4134/? )

...i don't understand why this is happening, NMM does not even give a message of any files being overwritten.
