This is a fantastic mod and I love the feeling old American Folk music brings to a world trying to rebuild itself.
I couldn't find the exact track list in the documentation, so I spent several days trying to line up the music files with their artist and title. Many hours of lyrics searching and then trying to find the right recording of the song.

Creole/cajun/zydeco music are long time favorites of mine, even before I got into older folk music. Glad you enjoy, sorry there aren't more selections. If I ever get around to updating this mod I'll be sure to throw on some more. More likely I'll just make a new one for New Vegas at some point, since I never play FO4 anymore.
Fantastic work! How hard would it be to make this as a replacer? I'm trying to learn all I can about modding FO4 now that I finally I bought it for PC lol
Welcome to the master race, I hope you never go back to peasant gaming. And glad you've enjoyed the music.
Hopefully in the months since you posted you've found a suitable tutorial to help you, because I made this mod before the GECK was released and I just used this guys' ESP (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2741/?)
I never figured out how to use the GECK for the mod, and ended being pretty burned out on FO4 at that point anyway.
This is great! I had no idea how much I liked this kind of music, what do you even call it though? This isn't country it's like yoke-ly olden days music that is so authentic sounding it's practically taking the piss out of itself. How did you discover this stuff?
Glad you enjoy it. The record companies started referring to it as Old-time music in the 20's, which is sort of a catch-all for anything that draws from earlier American folk traditions/instrumentation. The fact is it's highly regionalized across the country, in this mod I've mostly focused on Appalachia/south-east, Texas, and some stuff from the midwest. There's also some early blues which I consider to have a big overlap with Old-time music.
As far as how I discovered it, a long process of evolving taste, tracing the influence of more modern music i like, and many hours of trawling the net. There's a number of blogs dedicated to collecting/preserving this kind of music, a few of which are unfortunately not around anymore. As terrible as youtube has become, it's still a pretty good tool for finding related songs/artists. If you search for any of the artists in the mod you'll pretty quickly find channels dedicated to old-time.
I know what you mean when you talk of the lack of a Southern Fallout, ah.... They could do a good thing - But I reckon they would never do such a story justice and be as politically correct as they've been trying to be since Skyrim. It would have to be all about race one way or another, and that would ruin whatever story they might have had.
I'd like to think they'd be above doing a ghoul-analogue for slavery or something, but it's true the writing in Beth games has become incredibly unsubtle. It's not the ideology I mind as much as the ham-handed writing.
However, there is hope for a Southern Fallout. Even better, a Texan Fallout: http://www.falloutlonestar.com/
Did what I could in Audacity, volume increased on about 3/4 of songs, let me know how it sounds/if it's too loud now/etc. some of the songs were more prone to clipping due to the initial quality, I've done what I can with each song without crossing the line into degrading quality.

Of course it's Endorsed.
Thanks for your endorsement.
My only complaint is that it's a little quiet, a slight volume bump or two would be appreciated.
