    You can do it in the vanilla game... Just look on the crackheads terminal, then curploop the chip on the decoder

      If I remember correctly, accessing Tinker Tom's terminal requires you have to find the Railroad HQ and (I think) kill all the HQ staff. My mod is intended for any playthrough where you don't want to engage with the Railroad at all.

    I have this mod downloaded and installed, but I am unable to interact with the Chip Decoder (or whatever it's called). It has a dialogue option, but when i press the interact key, nothing happens - neither an error message nor any other reaction. I can do a list of mods if necessary, but... I don't have anything else that is interacting with Virgil or his cave. Seems odd to me... any ideas?

      That is strange all right. A couple of questions:

      • Did you install the ESP or the ESL version?
      • Have you had any dealings at all with the Railroad (Deacon, Desdemona, etc) yet ?
      • Is the quest "The Molecular Level" running, and what is the next step it wants you to do?
      • The mod won't work if the script file is missing. Can you check that the file nmsh_VCCD_Script.pex is in your Fallout 4\Data\scripts directory? If not, I recommend reinstalling the mod either with your mod manager, or manually.

    I don't like to go cross-faction, but I do like to get Deacon as a Companion on my MM General. So, I'll have to pass. Nice idea though.

    Thanks for this mod. We really needed an alternative rather than just the Railroad faction and the object IS in the correct location. Appreciate the work!

    How hard would it be to relocate this to another cell? I"m thinking of the "Abandoned Shack" aka "Federal Surveillance Center K-21B" .
    It would fit in with the decor and the location would provide a bit of challenge (and reward) for decoding the chip.

    Wow, this one looks pretty useful! I’ll definitely try it in my next playthrough. Is it compatible with “Virgils LABORATORY - Evil Lab Overhaul”?

      Hadn't heard of that mod, thanks for the tip! I just tested using the .esl version of my mod together with Evil Lab Overhaul 1.00, and it seems like they will work together ok - in the Overhaul cave, the Chip Analyzer still appears in the same position. Let us know how your next playthrough works out!
