**UPDATE**

Hello all,
Some users, including myself, have had issues with my radio mods where they will go irreversibly silent.  Figuring out the 'silent radio' bug is more work than I am able to commit to these days.  If a more experienced modder would like to pick up these mods (Squawkbox, Battlebox, and Chatterbox) I will happily provide the source files and documentation.  I'm sure someone more familiar with creation kit scripting could work these mods better.

**UPDATE**

Description

Ever watched 20 settlers standing in your bar in complete silence? Does that ever unnerve you? It unnerves me. So I found a way to fix it, even on the PS4 and Xbox. When you first enter the Combat Zone, there's a particular audio track that plays the sound of people talking indistinctly in the background, like in a restaurant or crowded theater.

The original version of this mod used those audio files, took out the static effect the radio has, and made a workshop radio you can place. The current version uses free audio clips of conversation found online, credits posted below.

The idea is that you can place these radio receivers in the more crowded part of your settlement. So late at night when your settlers gather in your bar, a hidden radio receiver will make it sound like they're all hanging out and talking.

This is part of a larger radio ambience pack I'm working on, but that won't be available on PS4 due to the archive restrictions. I'll post a video soon. Also, this is my first mod (despite years of using nexus and thousands of hours modding my games) so I'll try and squash bugs as they come, but this mod is very simple. It shouldn't create any problems.

Placing the Radio
In your settlement menu, under decorations -> misc, a radio receiver should be with the others that plays this track. Place it where you will.

Alternatively, you can spawn a receiver where you are standing with the console command "player.placeatme xx000fc0" for indoors  or "player.placeatme xx0026c2". The xx is the mod load order number, type the commands without the quotes. So theoretically, you can go into the Dugout Inn and place one of these to add some atmosphere to an otherwise stale place.

Installation
For manual installation, Place ChatterboxRadio.esp into your Fallout Data folder. The chatterbox folder goes into the radio folder, your file structure should look like this: Fallout 4\Data\sound\fx\MUS\radio\chatterbox

Otherwise download and install with NMM.

**Weird looping audio bug should be fixed in v1.2**

HUGE thanks to RadioactiveNuke for posting this step-by-step tutorial to do this:

Another huge thanks to Barbariccia and Combat Zone Restored. Hanging out in the
Combat Zone with the ambient conversation noise still playing is what
inspired me to make this.
