No idea why it wouldn't be working for you, it's been downloaded over 2000 times over 5 years and you're the first one to raise any kind of issue, suggests it's not installed properly on your side maybe?
I've only edited the LFP meshes so this wouldn't make a difference I'm afraid. There is always a chance for some flickering with the vanilla ones when you place them due to how the overlays lie on the surfaces, normally I just use Place Everywhere to micro-adjust them forward or back until it calms itself down, if that helps you.
