Yeah, it's a very good texture for a first mod. Unfortunately, there is a very noticeable seam on its sides (can be seen on 2nd screenshot). It needs a bit of further work to look perfect And yeah, 2K is OK, but optional 1K version won't hurt.
Just two tips, a resolution of 1024 should be more than enough and saving it with a DXT1 compression will reduce the filesize even further (should end up in the 500kb range). You won't notice a difference in detail ingame if you do this.
(Only use DX1 for textures if you're not using transparency though! )
