I'll start off by saying I have followed your Tutorial on fitting this dummy nif file to the first person slot. unfortunately I can't fix this myself as my creation kit hates me and no matter what I try it crashes whenever I try to save the file. So i was just wondering if you had any plans to make a patch for modern firearms at all?
After further investigation it seems that it may be an issue with several of the guns in modern firearms... I went back and started saving the edits to a seperate esp, which led me to discover that once the Armalite or Kalishnikov are edited then saving will crash. so when I set the modernfirearms.esp to active it immediately means i cant save because those sets of receivers are checked as modified and i crash when saving, even if i havent actually modified everything Im trying to see if i can find a way to get around it
I haven't run modern firearms in while since I didn't like how it completely took over the game. If you are having problems with the Creation Kit, you may want to try FO4Edit. IIRC the 1stPersonModelField shows up about 2/3rd's of the way down the page when looking at weapon records. I think it's a little more stable at times than the Creation Kit
I've tried to create a seperate esp file that overwrites the modern firearms one, It works in CK but ingame doesnt like it so i'll give fo4edit a try and see what happens
EDIT: Dont know why I even bothered with CK... about 4-5 hours in CK to fail miserably.... 20 minutes in FO4Edit and All Good haha
Any chance you can share/host your fixed Modern Firearms? I've been trying to do this myself but for some reason whenever I edit the 1stPersonModelField the weapons disappear. No idea why that is, everything appears to be as it should.
None of the patches utilizing this fix seem to work. There's no change. Short of going in the creation kit and making sure its picking the right file Iam not sure what I can do to trouble shoot. Iam using a Vive
Edit* Nvm I finally figured out what was causing it. Seems there's incompatibility between certain mods requiring this fix and New calibers patches
