Bro wasted his time. You'll get a copyright claim even without music.

Just so that you know, I downloaded this mod and I got PUADIManager:Win32/Bundlore with it. I am told this is Malware or a virus. I did quarantine and remove it. I am warning the rest of you of this, because the mod does work.

I have yet to test this but how does it affect Radio Freedom? Does it mute the Radiant quests it offers?

Great mod. Is there anyway to get this made for FO3 and NV? My daughter and I both stream all FO games and the hits don't stop coming.

I like the idea of this mod but when I went to uninstall it I found that the radio stations still did not play any music. I validated my game files but still got nothing. I am now having to re-download the game on a vary slow internet connection.

This is more of just a warning to others that maybe looking to get into making youtube videos but would still like to go back to the vanilla game from time to time.

[Edit} Never mind.. It was me, it works great!

If the piece of sound recording you use has been recorded between 1923 and 1963 the copyright protection lasts 28 years and unless it is requested to be renewed for an additional maximum 67 years by the copyright owner for a total of 95 years, it is public domain.

Since these radios feature music from the late forties to late fifties, and the original performers aren't even alive anymore to file a copyright claim, I would take any goddamn unlawful removal of my videos to court, I'm not even kidding!

Google doesn't really care how invalid a claim is, the system is automated. And for most youtube uploaders, they don't have the money to waste and will often just re-cut the video without the offending song and re-upload. This is to simplify the issue.

Shambling hit it right on the head.

I've had numerous copyright claims against me and had to completely re-edit and re-upload several videos because of it (it is easy to miss but the automated system doesn't).

Regardless of what the law may or may not be, us youtubers have to deal with the reality of the situation which is simply: find a way to remove the music or be punished. Sad, yet true.

I'm fairly certain that you're wrong about sound recordings recorded between 1923 and 1963, since that would make Steamboat Willy (Walt Disney's first (and still protected) animated content) Public Domain, which it isn't. WD was one of the major lobbyists for the Copyright Extension Acts of both 1976 and 1998, and I can guarantee that another 20 year Copyright Extension act will once again be on the horizon to protect Disney's baby.

Anything published by a Corporation ("Corporate Authorship"), since 1923 has 95 years of Copyright protection (up to 120 years from when it was first created if it was not immediately published after creation) without the need for the copyright holder to have it renewed. Prior to the 1978 Extension Act, the term of Copyright was only 55 years.

Otherwise, content that was not published as the above mentioned Corporate Authorship has Copyright Protection with a term of the life of the Author PLUS 70 years. Yes indeed, a song will have copyright protection for 70 years AFTER the author or artist has died.

Even if the performers are no longer alive to file a copyright claim, someone else owns the rights and can profit off of it.
