Do you like Fallout 4's original look, but still think it looks a bit washed out or blurry?
Want to improve upon it without taking away too much from the original, while keeping your performance almost intact?
Then this mod is for you!
What does it do?
This mod injects multiple shaders into the game to improve graphics, without ruining the original feel of the game. SIFx introduces:
- Sharpening: Brings out the small details in textures, best used with TAA, which reduces aliasing hugely, but introduces a lot of blurriness
- Vibrance: Slightly increased to make colors pop a little bit more
- Contrast: Slightly increased to make the game feel less washed out
- Chromatic Aberration: While not a fan of this myself, a very, very slight implementation of this fits the retro-futuristic atmosphere well, can be easily disabled if disliked
The difference is very subtle in the Nexus screenshots because of compression, I highly recommend you check out the video or the side-by-side comparisons.
Now with TWO showcases!
To Install
1. Go to http://reshade.me/ and download the standard ReShade package, extract only the ReShade folder and reshade.fx to your Fallout 4 root folder (Commonly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4)
2. Download the SIFx rar file, and extract it to your fallout root folder too, overwriting if necessary
To Uninstall
Delete dxgi.dll, reshade.fx and the Reshade folder from the Fallout 4 root folder
The DOF version is in very early testing, it works pretty badly at the moment and ruins the interface, it is not recommended for anything other than screenshotting.
