These 2 characters were truly designed to be the most annoying and worthless NPCs of the entire game... Well, personally I would add Preston. Actually developed a nervous reaction for when he passes near me and tries to give me quests.
Could you make a variant that somehow cuts down on Piper's incessant commentary when she's hanging around a settlement?
It's likely related to the distance she is from the player, but in Red Rocket, you're basically within earshot at all times, and she will rattle off her "people just want a hand" type lines nonstop, and sometimes the same line multiple times in a row.
Damn they're married (or related?), no wonder the dude's always miserable. I hope this game gets a 'silence is golden' equivalent when the mod tools come out, the snide comments when I pass an npc (or they pass me) drives me to murder (them).

but could you also silence Preston's lines like "i wish the institute would leave us alone" ... "i wonder what the institute wants from us" etc. that is annoying the hell out of me, because it is not only extremely repetitive as well, but also, he did not have a single engagement with the institute, he talks like they are attacking Sanctuary every 2nd day. If he talked about Super Mutants... well we got one attack so far from them, but that would still be more immersive than this institute talk.
I'll look into it. He has a lot of dialogue, so I'll have to sift through it all to find those lines. I should have time before this holiday weekend, otherwise I'll do it next week.
finally a mod that shuts that b&@*$'s mouth once and for all lucy isn't that bat but get's annoying when he keeps whining about his son hey i lost my son too (i mean shaun) the institute corrupted him with his future for humanity bullshit
