I primarily created this mod to fix a oversight in the basic game design, namely the lack of ammo- and preserved food crafting. This was fixed to some degree with the Contraptions Workshop but that was an over-engineered and under-achieved process, that was just too cumbersome.

There are other Mod that allow you to craft ammunition or food, but none with this complete scope and reach.

This mod enables you to craft All Ammunition from the game and craft All Pre-War Food Items (preserved and otherwise) as Preserved Rad Free Meals, in one package.

The mod has versions for players who own the DLC's and for those with just the vanilla game.

Have fun using it, and if you liked this mod please be so kind as to endorse it

    Cheers, Aven

Shame I'm late to finding this one.
I would have loved Potted Meat, Pink Food Paste, and Institute Food Packets to become unlocked as they were discovered.

Thinking about reinstalling FO4 and noticed this is one of the only crafting mods that covers all ammunition, including DLC types. I've noticed several comments that 5mm ammunition for heavy weapons is made in batches of 50; and all other heavy weapons only make 1 each. What about Flamer Fuel? It's used at around the same pace as 5mm, but it's listed as a heavy weapon. Does the Flamer fuel recipe make 1 or 50? If anyone can answer this it would be sincerely appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Also, thank you for making an all-inclusive mod.

The minigun is heavy but it fires 5mm, tiny little bullets smaller that a .22 (6mm). Thats why the damage on a minigun is so small per shot.

Awesome mod. I run with Fallout Loot Overhaul so I had to tweak the amount of ammo provided per build cycle. I also tweaked a couple of the food recipes (added Mirelurk eggs to Yum Yum Deviled Eggs and changed the Salisbury Steak to Brahmin meat. Without the foundation that you laid, that would not have been so easy. Thank you.

My biggest question used to be "do I have enough Adhesive?" Now it is "do I have enough Copper?"

Would it be possible have the a radiation cleaner ala 'fallout 3' where you have the post war irradiated food be "cleansed" at the cooking station?

      Hi There,

Interesting question. You are referring to FO3's Food Sanitizer (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Food_sanitizer).

I believe that does not exist in FO4 because of the Perk Lead Belly which does the same thing. Its is for this reason that I do not think mod makers will invest the time in making such a mod, in that it will only serve a minor purpose.

My mod saves you spending the three perk points by enabling you to rather easily, and cheaply, craft the pre-war packaged foods found in the game (that are radiation free), which serves a different purpose altogether.

So I am sorry to say that unless there is a large demand for it, I do not think it will happen.

      Thank,

      Aven

    Hi,
This is a great mod. the only two mods I have seen that allow to simple craft ammo are not complete. One miss DLC ammo and the other do not craft mini nukes.
I thank you very much for this mod and the opportunity of being able to play with the alien plaster for more than 300 rounds.

      Hi Fefuentes,

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad if you found it be useful.

I too believe that awesome guns like the cryolator or alien blaster, even some heavy weapons, shouldn't be limited in use, due to the fact that there are no ammo available for them. Hopefully this make some of those weapons to be more viable in the game.

      Have fun out there!

      Cheers, Aven

How many (say of the 10mm) does one recipe make? Does it make a box of 50 or how does that work?

      Hi,

In response to your query, the crafting of the Ballistic and Energy Ammunition gives you a box of 20 rounds each time you craft the ammo, with exception of the fusion core which gives you 1 item only.

Heavy Weapon Ammunition gives you one item each crafting action (1 missile, 1 harpoon, 1 mini nuke, etc.)

5mm rounds (Mini-gun) is heavy weapon ammo, however gives you a box of 50 rounds each time you perform a crafting action.

The Preserved Food items gives you 1 item each time you craft.

      Regards,

      Aven

      Hi megafallout3fan,

      Thanks for your input.

The question whether Contraptions DLC would be more immersive than workbench crafting, is an issue that could be debated extensively.

I served 5 years in the Army and is well acquainted with firearms and ammunition. My current job is a firearm instructor, so there is that too.

I use and purchase ammunition frequently in my line of work, and the factory where I buy ammo from is a place called Nobletec.

I have seen how they manufacture ammunition and to be honest, it takes a whole factory to do so. Every ammunition caliber has its own manufacturing process and special dedicated machines to do so. From the casings, to the primers, to propellant, to bullet points, to the filling, assembling, boxing and labeling, each stage needs a different machine and/or machines, in the manufacturing process.

The Ammunition Plant of Fallout 4 Contraptions Workshop is pure science fiction, no one machine can perform all those steps, even for a single caliber of bullet, let alone the host of different bullets and calibers used in Fallout 4.

However a skilled artisan CAN make, measure, fill, prime and load his own ammunition at a workbench. It is not mass scale manufacturing, but it is based on fact. Many thousands of professionals and hobbyists are doing so even today.

So in my humble opinion, the Contraptions Workshop is actually not more immersive, but that is just me. You are welcome to have a different opinion from mine.

      Cheers, Aven

actually 3d printing tech MAY in future allow this
BUT... is SF as of now
also wouldn't look anything like contraptions manufactory
belts to move materials are still way cool!

      Yup.

Science fiction does tend to become Science Fact, so who knows, maybe it can happen in the future?
