It's April 2024 and this mod still works wonderfully almost 7 years later.
Edit:
I spoke too soon, it didn't work and to make matters worse a strange bug occurred, when I ran there was a hissing noise behind me as if one of those cockroaches was being born. I changed the loading order several times but it didn't help, I had to uninstall it. I don't know if it's a conflict, MO2 didn't point anything out and neither did the other programs I use to check the files, so I have no idea what it is. For those who are going to install, save the game first, but without quick saves, save and use the "qqq" command (without quotes) on the console, test the mod and if nothing goes wrong, save, otherwise just exit the game, disable the plugin , enter the game, save again and only then uninstall the plugin. For those using Mo2, delete any saves it says the .esp for this mod is missing. For those who use Vortez, they just sit and cry.
Assuming this mod is no longer being worked on by the uploader/author, but would it be possible for someone to make this for each DLC (separately) and vanilla, so people won't have to buy both DLCs just to get rid of VATS?
Wow. I had no idea this Mod existed. I thought everyone except me was addicted to Vats. I have not used VATS ever since I got the game, like years ago. I just find it a huge boring 'cheat'. It's much more fun and immersive for me playing it in real time.
On my next playthru I will use this Mod. Thankyou.
After my first playthrough, I found VATS to be pretty much useless. Haven't used it since. It's too weak and you have a better chance with a little practice on your targets. Beth screwed the VATS in FO4.
This mod is really nice for Survival-type playthroughs even though VATS sucks for combat because you can spam it to easily find enemies/mines. I downloaded this mod just because I knew I was never gonna stop spamming the VATS key everywhere I went.
don't wanna sound mean pazzeroo, but i strongly disagree that vats is useless. i think its actually very overpowered. you must not have invested heavily into luck before, otherwise you'd have realised. for example:
vats criticals have 100% accuracy as long as you have clear view of what you're hitting, and with high luck, among other things, your critical meter fills suuuper fast. then you have the critical banker perk on top of that. so you shoot a guy in the torso with a low-AP cost gun like a 10mm a bunch of times in vats, right? then you take out the fat man or whatever other super weapon you have, and you've got like 4 super-powered, pinpoint accuracy shots you can fire directly at the enemy's weak spot in a row, without even trying to aim cos the game does it for you. and then you have allllll the other vats perks...
its a bit too easy to rely on if you have decent luck. hence i am here installing this mod ^.^
This is a terrific mod for VR use! I would just please like to ask though. Is it at all possible to halve the speed of the slomo effect, via the INI files even if not directly by modifying the mod itself? As it does just seem just a little too slow and OP now when in use.
