Probably because you lack the original mod.

I have nightstrikers by shadowliger installed. And even if i didn't that should not cause a crash on the game main menu, that should just cause a reliability error.

Will you do the same for the other creature mods (Aquatic Bestiary, Rad Spiders, Squirrels OTC, M's Abominations) or is this the only creature mod you use?

It's the only creature mod I use. Maybe sometime if I start using them I'll make this kind of mod for them.

I might just look at how you did this in FO4Edit and do it myself; thanks for this though, it should help (and also makes one less creature mod I gotta do.)

No problem, it's a fairly easy and small mod to do. If you want indications of what I did, here's the basic step-by-step:

-Copy all of the legendaries as override into a new mod patch. Rename them as you wish.
-Copy each of the types of legendaries (Rabid, Albino, etc.) into multiple new entries (As much as you want to give names to) into your patch.
-Rename each of them with a name.
-Copy the "LChar(Insert name of creature here)" from the Leveled NPC category as an override into your patch.
-Add the new entries, each with their corresponding level. Check the original ones as reference. For example, all Rabids are set to spawn from level 22.

      That's all
