Vault 494: A Vault-Tec Story adds a new Vault for the player to explore. As the player approaches the Nahant area they will pick up a Vault-Tec distress signal which will begin. From there the player will be free to explore Vault 494, which an accounting error gave an unusually high number, and Vault-Tec's attempts to create a crime-free society.
Quests
The mod uses a combination of structured quests and player exploration to tell its story. The narrative is mainly told through a combination of tableaux within the vault and through notes and terminal entries. The intention of this mod is to create a dungeon that the
player will stumble across during the normal play which they can then explore. It's a bit shorter than my other mods which are more campaign focused, this was just a little story I wanted to tell.
The mod has four main quests and a smattering of miscellaneous objectives which can be completed in the residential area.
Hints
Because the mod has a lot of exploration and little guidance I've tried to let use the environment to point to important things. As a general rule, if something is lit up then it's probably important.
If, for some reason, the radio doesn't play, then you can start the quest by discovering Vault-494 though Big Frank's Minimart.
