I understand why you did it, but now depending on what the settlers work on, they'll only work on two to three plants instead of up to six, so you would get less in the long run if I work it out right. So instead of harvesting six crops, you would be only harvesting two or three crops at a time. I'm not too sure how the harvesting works so I could be wrong there.
They only will only do 6 no matter what you put into the manager; it tells you. The only way I found to get more food is from his first mod. But more food = more defense = more moving things = lower fps until you ruin your game. I am going to try this mod and get rid of the hordes of settlers and 4000 defense and have an enjoyable playthrough.
So I noticed that my mutafruit plant is only producing 1 and my melons and pumpkins produce 3. I am running wild plant farming as well, would that be causing a conflict? The wild Muta is making 1 and when I check the food menu in build menu it shows that a regular muta would also only produce 1. Any help would be appreciated.
It is possible for Crops to give small amounts of happiness. like 1 - 0.5 - 0.1 It wouldn't be hard to add it.
Edit: ofc you could also add it as a condition when certain amounts of crops are placed they would provide happiness which would also allow for a condition of mixed crops for more happiness
I agree with you about the mod's premise, though raising the number of plants harvested by a settler to 12 would help, too.
As long as the settlement is guarded, the corn pickers can spend less time watching their backs and more time harvesting corn!
As larsen94 notes (in reply to kagorsa's request), this dovetails nicely with Commonwealth Chickens and Rabbits, and I can comfortably suggest you recommend that mod in conjunction with yours.
Edit: Likewise, Workshop Framework adjusts the amount of food a settler will pick, making the beginning request moot.
Another change to consider is making it so you can space the dang things closer together. The placement distance is so ridiculous I sometimes think I am playing unmodded Starbound.
Sounds like a good idea. I will try it when I start building settlements on my freash run through, shame no one can put chickens in the game, as eggs would be another source of food.
It's already exceedingly easy to provide enough food for any amount of settlers in vanilla, and 1 unit of food represents food for 1 person, I don't think 2 people can share a carrot
While I agree the carrot should be 1 the author has a point about the other stuff. It shows like 2-3 tomatoes on the plant, like 2-3 melons/gourds on the vine and the mutfruit plant has at least 5-6 on it.

So yes if you changed the carrot to produce 6 each then 1 settler should be able to farm 36 food.

Food [AVIF:00000331] and WorkshopRatingFoodTypeCarrot [AVIF:000A46FF] for carrots.

tho, i'm not 100% if it will work.

Does it take a game year to grow as well?
