If you are playing Heather as part of a Collection please disclose the name of the Collection if you are reporting a bug.
PLEASE DO NOT POST IMAGES IN THE THREAD. IMAGES ARE HUGE AND RARELY NECESSARY FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GONE WRONG. THANK YOU.
DO NOT REPORT OR ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RADIO UNLESS YOU GET ALL THE WAY TO HEATHER AND YOU CANNOT HIRE HER.

1. Thank you, everyone for your continued support over the years. Please remember to endorse if you haven't. Endorsements are what keep mods visible for new players to find.
2. Please continue to post pics of Heather to mod images, but be aware that NSFW images will not be approved because Heather does not carry the "adult" tag.
3. If you would prefer to ask for support on Discord see the following invite to my server. Please DO NOT post your questions in both locations. I'll answer you as soon as I can. Sometimes that might take me a day or two because modding is a hobby, not a job.
ShilohMc33 does interviews with mod authors and he and I talked recently about my work, Starfield, voice acting and all kinds of things. It was a lot of fun. July 16, 2023 Heather v2.6 has been uploaded to Bethesda.net
I cannot test the content myself so be sure to tell me if you are an xbox player if you come to report issues as they may be different than those experienced by players downloading from Nexus.
It sounds like the script has stopped running. If you changed your install in any way maybe something has gone wrong. You might try redownloading the mod and replacing what you have now with the newly downloaded file (or if you have her mod on your computer somewhere just reinstall over what you have now).
I don't know what you mean by changed install. I tried redownloading and replacing, reinstalling. Placed the mod at the bottom of the load order. Nothing seems to work.
Must be an issue with some other mods, I've added quest mods like Depravity and TFTC and the Unlimited Companion Framework.
Hello, first off thanks for Heather, greate companion, hard to play without this mod But today, hiring her everything was normal, time to rock and roll as she says, then the mod stopped, she stays smoking there and no dialog possible
I returned there several times and many days after that, she's still smoking and no dialog, also I have not her transponder that she told me she gave me it
Heather keeps breaking my immersion which makes me sad because I kind of like having her around.
She's aggressive to everyone. I walk into Vault 88 or the fight with Kellogg and she opens fire every time, I have to tell her to stay back and reload. Why is she hostile or causing hostility with so many people? That also breaks the Kellogg quest because I can't confront him if he's opening fire and I don't get my moment with him. Plus the whole trip to Kellogg she talked about him and I wasn't supposed to know who he was and it just didn't feel right. This is supposed to be my quest and it feels like I have to share it with her and think about her feelings and her revenge and I wish I didn't.
Then she mentions things I shouldn't know pretty much the second I picked her up. She talks about the Brotherhood of Steel who aren't in the area yet, she told me things about areas I shouldn't know yet either (struggling to remember them but I can't). There's a difference between her existing before me and having knowledge about things (which is cool) and her spoiling my knowledge (which is how it feels at the moment). It's kind of like having a follower who keeps calling you dragon born but you're playing with Alternative start and don't know that yet lol.
I dunno if I could just stop her opening fire every time I'm near someone she doesn't like that would help.
She's not that aggressive from this mod alone. You have a mod list issue.
Re: Her dialogue She grew up in the Commonwealth. She will always know more than you do about the Commonwealth and will continue to talk about it. She doesn't know about quests before you do them, obv, you have to play through them for her to know about that content. If you need to be the one who knows everything and prefer companions who as ignorant of the gameworld as the player then she is def not the companion for you. Probably none of the companions in the game will work for you either. They all live in the world and know about it and talk about it. Same with all of the other npcs in the game. Every single character in the game knows more about the Commonwealth than the player does.
Hey, I just wanted to say I think you make the best Bethesda follower mods, really enjoyed Willow starting 13-14 years ago or whenever that came out, and Heather is great too. I plan to do another Fallout 4 playthrough soon fully modded up, and of course Heather will be a part of it again. I really enjoy that your followers are not too talkative yet not boring, have a neutral alignment (don't get upset if you step on a bug) have good voice acting and they are nice to look at.
Anyway, I was thinking about Fallout 5 and how freaking old I am now. I was a teenager when Fallout 1 came out and I loved it, I am middle aged now (sigh) I was thinking about how of course, Fallout 5 will suck on release but then be great once it's modded, so that bring me to this question. Do you plan to add one of your followers to Fallout 5? Or do you think you won't be interested in doing it while at a retirement community? I know I'd like to play it from my retirement community but I'm just wondering how many big modders will still be modding. I hope to see one of your followers in Fallout 5 2033. (I typed 2035, but I think the success of the show might crack the whip a little.)
Thanks! And, yeah, lol, who knows where any of us will be in 9-10 years. Or what the game will actually be like. There's honestly no way for me to predict what I'll be doing in 10 years and if I'll still be modding or not.
Thank you for one of the greatest mods I found on this site. I have an observation though. Not sure if anyone else feels the same but I feel I need to say it anyway because I love this mod so much that I care to share an opinion. One can have Heather as a companion very early in the game . And yet, she has a powerful laser weapon and a never ending supply of bombs which makes progression not lore friendly anymore. I went with her to the Super Duper Mall and I remember it being a big challenge in my first run. With her as a companion I did not need to do anything at all since not only she kills Ferals quickly but also has all the Aggro so enemies always attack her instead of me. She seems to be able to carry a lot of stuff too - more than the average companion. I think you should consider how powerful and useful she can be in order to keep her more lore-friendly.
Heather may be OP in a vanilla game on Normal, but on harder levels, or survival, particularly with enhanced combat mods, she is perfect as is and her laser becomes completely underpowered pretty early.
Thanks, glad you like her but your experience is being affected by other mods.
Heather has zero bombs in her inventory from this mod. I'm not even sure what you mean by bombs. Grenades? She has zero. I'd never give a companion grenades. They'll kill the player.
Heather carries the lowest level laser pistol when you pick her up in this mod and her carryweight, health, etc is in line with the vanillas.
Also, re: OP or not Players have control over that. Don't like her weapon take it away and equip a lousy one on her. Think her outfit is too OP give her something else, etc.
Not sure what mods you are running but in all my bethesda games the companions are mostly there for litteraly a companion and to help carry items. They spend most fights panting on their knees or sitting on their ass going Ahhhh! Eaaah! like Peter Griffen when he falls down. You need some difficulty mods.
Hi, love the mod. Heather, Kit (from The Machine and Her) and Dog Meat are my basic squad these days.
Anyway, my Heather is stuck in "stay" mode. Where usually "stay/follow" is toggable, now when I click "follow" she will respond, E.g. "Roger that" but she is still in stay mode...
Try using her transponder to call her to your position. If one of her AI packages or a scene has gotten stuck that will fix it as it runs a script to clean things up and get her following the player normally. Otherwise it may be a conflict, etc.
Are you using a collection? Which version of the game are you on? OG or NG (next gen)?
Well, I can't be sure what did it because I've been poking around trying different things not very scientifically. The last thing I did before I noticed she was "fixed" was fire and then re-hire her...
Thanks for being so available and helpful and thanks again for a really fine mod!
I LOVE THIS MOD! You singlehandedly created the best companion for the game, that is so deeply immersive and a constant joy to use. Dozens of playthroughs later, and I still always go directly to Heather as soon as i come out of vault 111.
I would love love love to pay for this mod, because i flat out feel guilty not paying for this experience.
If you make a mod for starfield, i swear to gawd I'll go back to playing that trainwreck just for your mod.
Looking into that mod's files I see something like:
$X Angle OffsetX Angle Offset $Y Angle OffsetY Angle Offset $Z Angle OffsetZ Angle Offset $Distance to the side of the player.Distance to the side of the player. \n NOTE: NPC greeting distance is tied to this value. Heather v2.6 has been uploaded to Bethesda.net
I've also uploaded a version that gives Heather a vanilla body. You can find it here
Heather with Vanilla Body on Bethnet
I have this issue where using the Transponder, it gets consumed and has no effect. It doesn't teleport Heather, but disappears from the inventory.
Worked fine for the first 20 hours of the playthrough, at some point it got bugged. Anyone else had this?
Thanks

and that will kill any hostiles in the area, but no friendlies.
Thanks for the quick response

I finally found something in regards to follower distance - this mod from skyrim: Followers as Companions
Would it be possible to implement something like this? I would give anything :))
Is this something you would be interested in making?
Thank you kindly for all your work! <3
