   If anything this is less immersive because the terminals match your hud/pipboy color.

      Well, it depends on what colors you use on your pip/hud. Personally I use amber/orange-ish so this fits my hud/pip better than green =)

      They don't stick to the hud, if they did this wouldn't be needed. The colors are in the meshes themselves. I think what you mean is the color you see when you're using the terminal, then yes. Those are the ones tied to the pipboy.
