Just in case anyone's looking at this wondering if they need it, it's included in the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch. It's been partially included for a while, but UOF4P 2.0.6 is the earliest version which completely supersedes this.

Thank you.  I wasn't even sure what this was actually doing, much less if I needed it for vanilla.  Turns out I already had it.  This ought to be pinned.

One issue. This only seems to work when I'm wearing the frame. Am I missing something or conflicting with another mod?

FIXED: My issue was using Mod Organizer. I'm so sad the author abandoned it...

Thank you, mlucke! That weird saturation effect was driving me insane.

    Interesting stuff.

I wonder... I use Kooj's Turismo frame and have always been weirded out by how the jet black cylinders on the back would go to grey once I entered the PA. Never been able to figure that out - does this mod address that? (I'm sure I've noticed this on other frames too, ie not Kooj's) If not, I'm wondering if it's the same sort of issue at play. (I've never thought it was a problem with the textures.)

A couple screenies to illustrate what I mean. Sorry for the quality, it was night time in game when I took the shots:

    PA frame alone:
    Spoiler:
    Show

    PA frame once entered:
    Spoiler:
    Show

Actually, now that I see it, maybe it affects the shoulder wing things too (can't see when worn so never noticed that before).

Okay, so the answer is actually "yes", but not in the way I was expecting. After applying the mod, the look of the frame became consistent whether or not your char is in it. But it became the greyer version as shown in the second pic above. Interesting! Note that this isn't a complaint, I prefer it to look the same whether or not my char is wearing it. I was just surprised, that's all.

Couple pics to illustrate (I like pics, as you can tell ):

      Frame alone:
      Spoiler:
      Show

      Frame while worn:
      Spoiler:
      Show

Also got a chance to see the mod in action in the rain. Works absolute wonders (again, this is Kooj's Turismo frame)

      In rain, without mod:
      Spoiler:
      Show

      In rain, with mod:
      Spoiler:
      Show

Never noticed how weird the frame looked in the rain before, but, man, what a difference. Totally endorsing this mod.

ya'll are aware that that's some lighting changes right? :|

Lighting in Fallout is weird to begin with.

You have to be kidding, right? That's a ridiculous statement. I've been playing with Kooj's tourismo frame for hundreds of hours and can attest that it's not lighting.

The PA frame while worn and while looking at it empty are two different textures. PAFrame01, and PAFrame01SMALL. Got to change them both for the effec tto appear in both instances.

Funny enough, i've never noticed it before and even more funnier is that pip-boy has pretty much the same problem with some of its parts (knobs). They has absolutely no specular in the rain!I'm pretty sure that i know how to fix it, but i cant test it, cause my game crashes when i try to load it with modified pip-boy mesh. Hopefully i will find some way around.

I am using the power armor frame retexture from Fallout Texture Overhaul Power Armors UHD 4K. I checked before and after shots in the rain and see no difference with this mod installed. Is this only for the textures mentioned in the description i.e. Kooj's frames ? Just wanted to make sure. thanks

I'm using Kooj's Raptor frame since day 1...

I've installed your fix and i do not see any difference whatsoever.
    What am i doing wrong?

Kooj's Raptor frame has no problems when it's clear.

I did not made myself clear enough, no pun intended.

I've tried while it was raining and the frame still looks the same hence the question.

This is how it looks while it's raining outside after i installed your fix.

So do you have the same result as "http://i.imgur.com/DlWn9TJ.png" without my fix?
One possibility is that you use a mod which already replaces the nif file.
Another is that the problem comes from my specific modded circumstances :-P

...Anyway, we do not have ugly specular-less images. Thank god!

yes, the results are the same without the fix.

And at this time of posting, i have no other mods that affects Power Armor installed.

but i would really like to have Kooj's frame looks like yours all the time, much better definition.

The frame in my image seems vivid just because it is surrounded by many light bulbs.
In a moderate lighting, it is not so shiny.
