You do not need those mods, just found this mod through the mod No AWKCR and AE For Mods File Dump here on nexus, I think it adds the crafting recipe to the chem table. I don't use AE or AWKCR as it is not compatible with texture mods, making my game look bland like the original fo4 unmodded :P
I don't have a bland looking game, and use both AE and AWKCR with a lot of textures. You probab;y have something else going on with your load order. Not to say anyone has to use those mods, but they aren't incompatible with texture mods at all.
AWKCR is definitely problematic, but prob more so to a heavily modded late game. If you've an old loadout that's invested in AWKCR and not giving you trouble then carry on, but be aware of it's underlying age, feature-creep development, and oft-reported history of conflicts, bugs, save-game bloat and CTDs. There was never any real need for it anyway - as demonstrated by No AWKCR which itself has over a hundred mods patched to simply remove it.
