I cannot find "a ring of invisibility, and a disgusting board, within walking distance of Sanctuary." And I walked. Walked a lot. Walked in circles, walked in loops, walked in crisses and crosses… May I ask for a few pointers, like, where to look, or item ID? Please?
(I found several other items. A magazine, a scope, a crazy laser rifle, another rifle, a rolling pin, a helmet… alas, no ring.)
Update (Jan 2018): Got some good advice from one helpful Zombie… Thx.
They are all over the place, mostly in the outlying areas, but some are in places toward the interior that the main quests ignore. I don't have a number, but it's a lot of things. I've honestly been playing and found some of them and forgotten that they're part of this mod until I use them, and remember.
I hope this mod have the item... so, I've found an epic hunting rifle scope, the problem is, it's a misc item so can't use it for weapon crafting. Or this was intentional? If not your mod created that item, sorry : )
Ps.: Near the vault, I've found a magazine, if I remember correctly, it's not a base game thing. IT is a duplicated magazine, or moved from original place?
The rifle scope: If it was inside a big tire, it's supposed to be a usable mod. Maybe it needs to be on a specific rifle. It worked on *the one I had on me while I was testing the mod*, so I assumed it was working fine.
The magazines I posted were all duplicates. Was it near a unique note? Did you like the note? I enjoyed writing the assorted little notes I sprinkled around the map.
The rifle scope was in a big tire indeed. I don't know, if it needs to be on a specific rifle, I need to find the specific rifle to test it : ) It have the proper name like other mods... so... maybe. I keep looking.
I've only found this two hidden thing so far and only the magazine had a note, but I hope that I can read more of those when I found something else, I really enjoyed it : ) I like it when those type of things have some story and that note gave that unique moment. It was a nice touch : )
...Or 3? I don't know, I've found a weird rolling pin (perfect for angry housewives), but if it's that mod too, you did a good job to hide it : ) It's hard to say, because those were fit the world, and that's a good thing.
Yeah the rolling pin is one of mine. All the things are hidden in places you'd never notice unless you just went off exploring. The story and side quests ignore about half the map, and it's interesting to think whether this was intentional, or if they were planning alot more, but just couldn't fit it in the final game, so just left all the assorted junk around...
something I picked up is posting a comment in the upper left every 10 seconds and I cant get rid of them. There is a like a crash cymbal sound and then the quote. Each quote says something different like, "even the finest sword plunged into water will eventually rust".
I thought it was a sword that started with a V, cant remember the name... the item says that every 30 seconds the item will add either negative or positive attributes. But I destroyed that item in case that was it. It wasnt. I have emptied my entire inventory as well, other than quest items I cant drop, and I still get this spam every 10 seconds.
it was the Viridian Fate Sword. I am not sure what happened with it, but even destroying it didn't remove the quotes every ten seconds. I didn't even have it wielded or in my inventory when this spamming started. I had to go back to a save where the spam wasn't present to get rid of it.
The only steps I can retrace were that I had it in my companion (Cait) inventory. I took everything from here at once and dismissed her. then I put all the items I was saving, including this sword, in a container I use. Sometime after that, I noticed all this spam every 10 seconds. I guess the game/mod thought I had this item wielded, even though it wasn't.
Ok, well the Viridian Fate Sword is NOT part of my mod, any of my mods, and I'm not sure where that cymbal crash, or random quotes come from, I didn't make any kind of UI scripts. "even the finest sword plunged into water will eventually rust" is a quote from a medieval story I think. Def not part of my mod.

According to my google-fu, the mod that installs it is called More Uniques. I searched because I want to make sure I avoid such items as that sounds very annoying. Thank you for saving me some aggrevation.
I found a stick with green s#*! on the end, it's pretty neat, I haven't used it though, it's just hanging on my wall, but hey, I'm still looking! Great mod.
I got 1000 downloads of this mod! Maybe I should get on doing the second one. I had planned to, but never got around to it. Wanted to make it like an actual scavenger hunt, with a loose story. Now I'm thinking I should.
Hi, I haven't found anything yet other than the laser rifle, easy to see where it was in the screen shot ;/, and some nice goggles that give the red effect on targets. This was nice early in the game since I think you need Science 3 to add it yourself to some eye wear. The fact that I haven't found anymore is my fault I admit, but I have been looking everywhere. I actually normally do because I am a loot hound pack rat hoarder...
The one question I have is that I usually change the name of items I use/wear normally and just add a # to the front of the name to shoot it to the top of the menu. I do this with weapons and armor specifically so I can see them right away and also separate it from the other stuff I am carrying. For the laser weapon, I did this very easily with the weapon bench in Sanctuary probably at level 2 or 3 (I started a brand new game). When I found the goggles later in my game at level 10 or so, I could not see the goggles in the inventory at the armor workbench. I have the items in the inventory, and am wearing it. But I cant see it in the workbench to modify the name like I can with the laser weapon. I tried to remove the item from wearing it. That didnt work either. Anyways, I was just wondering if there was something that was causing this to not be visible in the armor workbench when I can see the weapon just fine in the weapon workbench...
I'll take a look at this for you, but I expect that it's doing this because the goggles themselves aren't listed on the crafting system by default. Maybe one of the universal crafting mods or the ballistic weave expanded mod could help you.
OK, but then that laser weapon and the widow rolling pin items that is in your mod aren't as well. But I can see both on the weapon workbench. The base goggles already exist in the loot pool because of the road goggles.
Just cause they're in the loot pool doesn't mean they're in the moddable pool. It's a strange system they've set up, one of the hurdles I had to overcome with one of my other mods, Mellow Scavvers (shameless plug), to get it to it's new V2 status, is that the vanilla scavengers were templated on the raider AI, Faction list, and levelled item lists. I guess someone at Bethesda got really lazy with that, but anyway, I had to add them to several factions, and tweak the base AI attributes to get them to act like the scavengers from FO3 and NV. Like I said, I'll take a look at the goggles when I can, see if I missed something while I was adding the effect to them. BTW I hope the joke in the name isn't lost on you...
I just installed Expanded Ballistic Weave to see if maybe that helps... I found the invisible ring ;/. I was already in that location but you cant see the ring. I just saw some text show up on the screen as a pained that 'area'... Maybe small items like that should be in containers? There is a lunch box not too far from it.
OK, I added that other mod and I still cant see the goggles.
I found the One Ring, which I assumed was the invisibility ring, but when I put it on nothing happens. Maybe my player isnt cool enough to go full on invisible ;/
Yeah you def had v1. As to the goggles, I've got them, their vanilla base, and the other kind of goggles' vanilla base just to see. None of them show up in the armour crafting table. So it's not my mod, it's just that they're not designed to be altered in-game. If you were doing it before, it was probably with the help of another mod. I have no idea how to add them to the crating table either, so I can't help you any further with this particular thing. But if you come across any other bugs I'll be watching the thread. Sorry.
OK, thanks for looking. I specifically can change/see the Road Goggles in the armor workbench. I like using those because of the 1 to Intelligence... So maybe it is AWKCR or Armorsmith Extended. But I would think if I can see these I might be able to see yours... no bigggie. I just have to be careful not to sell them because I cant add the # to the prefix of the item.
Update: As I was exploring and marking locations for Phase 2, I figured out how to get the ring of invisibility to work as I had intended. I had to make a new enchantment with the invisibility effect, and none of the limitations. So now you can walk around invisible permanently as long as you wear the ring. That'll be in the updated file.
What's the future for this mod look like? Are you planning on keeping it small, just a few things? Or are you planning on making it into a giant easter-egg hunt of goodies all around, similar to some of the mods for FNV adding collectibles of various types around the Boston area?
I am planning to expand this to include some other areas on the map as well as several interior cells that don't get much attention. I also plan to tweak the ring of invisibility because it's not working quite the way I had originally intended.

and how many are there, if I may ask, assuming you yourself know...

It didn't even work when I was stationary.
Update...
I downloaded manually the v2 and I reran the install. Now it shows V2. So I must have installed the old version when I ran it automatically.

I think I'm done with the exterior locations for now.
I'll be working up a list of interior cells that are deserving of some attention.
