The hairstyle in the images is my personal conversion from SG Hairs for Skyrim, I haven't found the original model creator so I cannot ask for permissions to upload. Sorry guys.
The mod is working fine for me, using the latest version of Looksmenu v1-6-20 and Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE). The previous poster mentioned a problem with their controller after installing this mod, but I just looked at the esp with Xedit, unpacked the bsa files, checked the .json files and there is no indication that it does anything other than add hair colors.
Another issue people mentioned was not seeing the colors show up in game. Make sure you have the pre-requisites installed. Also it's possible that other mod(s) could be interfering with it showing up. I noticed this with some overlay mods and LooksMenu Compendium. So if you don't see these hair colors, try disabling your other looksmenu mods (but keep looksmenu enabled of course or this one won't work) and then by process of elimination you can see if one of them is not compatible or blocking this from working. This is the only hair color mod I have enabled currently and it's fine.
Major Warning I have a lot of mods, but the only one I've installed today was this one. After installing it my controller buttons somehow got remapped and jumbled. There is a chance it wasn't caused by this mod, however it did happen as soon as I took a break from the game to download only this color set and immediately stopped my controls from working correctly.
I'm hoping someday, we'll get color sliders like the Skyrim one, but until then, I guess I'll stick with the vanilla colors... Keep up the good work Expired!
I don't know why but I can't get this to work atm. I have looks menu and FO4SE installed. Maybe it's my huge amount of mods or the recent changes to looks menu. I have tried reinstalling it and changing my load order up a bit but nothing is working.
Edit: Never mind it's something with my game or load order or the amount of mods I have. Edit 2: Found the problem I have a mod conflicting with looks menu -sighs-
This is awesome! I'll try and add some functionality with this for my hair colors
I tried to save the DDS with BC7, but some of the colors don't show correctly, and I noticed the file size is smaller 16KB vs your 22 KB :/ How'd you get it to save properly?
I saved as BC7 using the Intel plugin for Photoshop. What do you mean the colors don't show correctly? Is your palette scale right or did you just edit the one I supplied? It's possible to add more selection to a single palette (i.e. make the palette larger) as long as you recalculate the remapping index.
Hey, I'm too cheap to buy Photoshop so I use Paint.NET and it has built in .DDS support. You just have to pick all of the highest quality options when you're saving. I still have to download it on my new laptop so I can't check what those options are right now, but it's really simple. There are only three of them.
So I did get that extension for Photoshop, and what I did to make my palette was I took a previous full size one, mix and matched it with some others and cropped it down to the 16 color size and resolution. When saving there's 4 different BC7 options but I don't think any of them made a difference, and they all save the palettes to be 16KB at that size. When I go in game the top two colors work and maybe a few others but mostly it's being read wrong. Here's a link to it if you want to look at it https://www.dropbox.com/s/jihdtbylccchh3w/ColorOnBlack.dds?dl=0
@InfinityPeon, and everyone else for that matter, Photoshop-CS 2 is free and it's from the official Adobe website. The even give you the product key to activate it. The reason it's free is because they said it was too old to keep trying to update it.
Paint.net is superior to that version of Photoshop anyway. But even so, since Photoshop CS2 is technically not free, you might as well just torrent the current updated version, because that's just as illegal.

Hair Colors do appear when I load a preset, but do Not Appear in the looksmenu hair color list.

Also paint.net no longer has the plugin for dds files. I checked during the night, before I found out about PS being free.
