Yay, now the minutemen can throw two headed cows at those silly steel kniggits. Telling them their mothers were molerats, and their fathers smelled of brain fungus didn't go over too well.
I only had the one time, they all tried to kill me... I can still hear the screams, I know I'm supposed to always look on the bright side of life (Corpses Whistle), but the screaming, so no can't say that I have tried that. Yet.
Ok I have to ask and please forgive me if some of this has already been covered. Is this a mod that makes the game's junk-cannon that you can build actually work, in a manner of speaking? The very first time I saw that as a part of the DLC, before ever even getting to use it, I was already extremely excited! I had this image in my head that once I built this, no matter what I put in there, whatever was in the cannon at the time would literally be sent disappearing into the sky. Lo and behold! I built the cannon only to FIND OUT... most of the smaller objects in the game won't even fire at all. The things that do fire, go about twenty feet into the air... :|BORING!
For anyone reading this, I wish to be able to create a cannon in the game that I can lure live raiders, super-mutants, maybe mirelurks, and definitely gunners into, and then fire them into the sky and let them fall to their death. If I can't have that, at least gimme a cannon that will fire dead/inanimate things like you would imagine a cannon of that size should. Please? I'll hope for the best and plan for the worst.
On that note (I apologize if this one is a small bit off topic) traps. There are traps in the game. There is a trap specifically, that when you step on sends spikes up out of the floor to spike you. 1) Why isn't there a custom animation for this to be a 1-hit kill where the victims are actually impaled by the spikes? 2) (This is the point of this entire second topic)- Why is there not a trap where enemies fall through a trap door into a meat-grinder never to be seen recognizably ever again? At some point there was a machine you could build that would grind up humans to give you all of their bones, but I can't find that in the game anymore.
Also please add a video of this mod (not the suggests above, this actual cow-cannon mod)... happening
From your first paragraph you seem to be describing a different weapon, the weapon or craftable object (game thinks it is Furniture) that this was made from was not from a DLC but was in the vanilla form of the game. The Artillery Piece does launch an explosive nuke far into the air then it disappears, it will reappear from the sky and strike down in the area that you throw an Artillery Smoke Grenade (which it is marker) as long as you are in range. Also the ammo for this Settlement Defense weapon is "hidden" in the game you never actually see it, or see anyone loading the Cannon it just sort of magically conjures then they fire it once signaled to do so. Only way you can change the ammo is to go into the CK or FO4Edit and manipulate it that way (that I know of at least).
I love the idea of being able to load live creatures into it and firing them to their doom, it is way beyond me on the modding know how.
Ever since my first attempt at a video failed so horribly (and because I have horrible internet, uploading a 7 min youtube video could take ~6 hours) I stopped making videos of my mods, if someone else wishes to make a video and upload it and link me to it I will be happy to post it on this page.
You had me just on word play alone. Is this immersive? Absolutely not. Is it funny and still practical? Yes it is. Will the guns be operated by "Gateway style computer" bikini clad women? More than likely. Very well done!
Some of my mods are like this, I just randomly think of something that would be hilarious to put into the game and then I try to make it happen. Obviously, these mods are not for everyone (only 52 downloads in ~28 hours), but it is made well, works perfectly alongside the Artillery Pieces already in the game, and most importantly is hilariously fun to use and watch.
So to those that do decide to download my novelty mods, you will have a good time using/watching it.
To me, once you've beaten the game a few times, mods like this make it fun to just goof around with and add replay value. I appreciate your effort in creating this mod and sharing it.
