Could you add shadows to the short version, Dunno if there are suppose to be shadows but I would prefer the short than the 5x one.

I feel 3x for pipboy is way to much. can you try a 1.5x or 2x one. i feel default is too short and 3x gets pretty much everything. I would still like to see some darkness in the horizon in buildings lol

I tried 'floodlight medium & short - no shadows' and I can see the 3rd person light source while playing in first person. It looks like a tiny flying lamp is following me everywhere.

It only happens when wearing Power Armor and walking forwards and/or right. :/

True, and it also has no directed light. Its 360 degree light. Remove the mod and you see its like a real flashlight. Maybe its a limitation in the engine? Make it stronger and it will start to shine 360 degrees instead of forward. Not sure. Hope it can be fixed. We need stronger headlights.

Yeah, in power armor, it also creates a strange shadow "seam" line at 180 degrees, from left to right, directly behind the player. You can see the flying lamp light source floating just outside the helmet, pointing backwards. It seems that in order to replicate a 360-degree lamp, the mod just adds an additional mirrored light pointing backwards. Hence, we can see it floating on the opposite side of the head, pointing backwards, and since they don't provide true 180-degree lighting each, there's a weird shadow seam.

Guess I'll just have to stick with the normal Medium version w/ shadows. It looks fantastic, but those additional shadows can really drop FPS at random in this game.

Using the mining helmet I can also see that little flashlight...it is floating on ground level lol. But only in 3rd person view...

Is it possible to have this mod include the searchlights you can build from workshops?

It's sort of annoying shooting at muzzle flashes in the night because all of my darkness mods make it almost impossible to see a super mutant 20 meters away, and my spotlight turrets 10 meters in front of me don't reach out far enough to light them up

    great mod btw

Could you possibly remake with F04Edit? Snip is known for causing game corruption.

I would also like to get FO4Edit version. In Skyrim (for example) save file corruption was serious issue for many before Bethesda released their modding tools.

      I'd like a FO4Edit version as well.

I'm cleaning out most of my mods that are made with xSnip because of the save corruption.

Where are people saying that there is save corruption? I've had zero issues with any mods made with Snip. I just want to see some examples, because while people are *saying* that it could happen, I've yet to see proof.

It has happened to me. Saving started to take a reeeeeeaally long time. As soon as I uninstalled all mods made with Snip, it went back to saving instantly. That's enough for me to avoid anything made by snip.

if you can show me some proof other than a few pieces of anecdotal evidence that fosnip causes corruption, I'll remake it. Saving taking longer is not save game corruption, it means there are more things that need to be saved, likely from ssex filling your settlements with other stuff. If you use any of the currently inadequate modding tools, there is a possibility of any sort of error, we don't have proper modding tools. This is as likely with any editor that changes values. The more complicated the mod, the more likely something is to get messed up. Fortunately this mod is only a few value adjustments and isn't likely to mess anything up, but there's always a possibility with early modding without a SDK.

I wonder if it is possible to replace the normal pip boy light with the cone from headlamps. Don't like the circle of light all around you and the shadow mod is too glitchy, it becomes distracting very fast.

from when I've tried, it seems to be too wonky to work. It shines straight up, or just in the direction the pip boy is facing. Once the creation kit comes out, I'll see what can be done.

Does this mean that this mod also does what Pipboyshadow mod does?
You should put that more clearly in the description.

pipboyshadows checks a single box that enables shadows. This mod adjusts values.

Hi, great mod! Especially together with darker nights.

One question tough: For me the light is not directional, I'm like a walking lantern with light going to all sides. Anny idea what is causing this? Was using mining helmet.

Same here mate. The light is not a spot anymore, it shines 360 degrees around me and its like daylight. Would be awesome if it was directed forward (power armor) and dark on the sides. Also, in 3d person you can see the light in the back of the head (possible known issue), and finally you can also see it from 1st person (the lens flare) moving around on the screen as you move left/right.

Other than that - NEEDED mod! Original light is WAY too weak. Thank you.

That seems to be the problem here. I like having a decent strength head lamp... but if you look it's clear that the light is shining both in the direction you face (when in power armor) and behind you. There's a narrow band of darkness (IE no light from the lamp) in between.

I can't use this until that's fixed. (also would love this to be done via FO4edit but that's a separate kettle of fish.)

Cant reccomend nor use this mod because it simply dosnt work. Your head lamp simply dosnt work anymore with this mod and is replaced with the pipboy light that shines all around you. I say avoid this mod untill there is a propper fix or description on how the creator constructed the screenshots because it looks nothing like that in game.
