GENERAL INFO
Using the technology behind my other mod Weapon Specialization, this is a lighter mod that detects weapon categories as defined by the Vanilla Fallout 4 weapon perks. Simply put, the EXTRA DAMAGE portion of those perks have been REMOVED and TRANSFERRED to a set of new PERKS that will level up based on experience points accumulated everytime you attack with a weapon of a category. 1 level = 1% more damage. Here are all the categories:
Basher Big Leagues Commando Demolition Expert Gunslinger Heavy Gunner Iron Fist Nuclear Physicist Rifleman
All uncategorized weapons will fall into a special group that is called Weapon Technician. That means all weapons, even from OTHER MODS, will level up, even if they aren't properly tagged as a rifle, pistol, etc.
The MAXIMUM level for each weapon category is 100, after which it no longer level up or gain further extra damage.
MORE INFO
The original weapon perks are not gone, but their usefulness is lessened by this mod since they now only provides the SPECIAL EFFECTS that they used to provide along with their original damage boosts. To compensate for that, these effects have been boosted by 50% and begins at the first perk star of that weapon category. The nature of those effects have not been changed.
Again, EXISTING CHARACTERS will be WEAKENED upon the usage of this mod, since their 5 stars perks will stop giving the original damage boost.
Each weapon category has their own experience table. While there is no crazy experience curve formula, it does takes more and more shots/attacks to level up as the level raises.
You can check your Progressive weapon perks LEVELS at the Perk section of the Pipboy. by using the WEAPON LOG item located inside the AID section of your Pipboy.
This IS kind of a overhaul mod for perks, so it probably won't play nice with other perk overhaul mods.
You CAN use my Weapon Specialization mod at the same time as this mod, but it should be placed below this mod in the load order. Or try fiddling around.
USER FEEDBACK
I decided to upload a bunch of my mods from Bethesda.net to the nexusmods.com website, but my target audience is the console userbase of Fallout 4. While I'll be happy to read any feedback, comments, suggestions and questions from comments, I'll only implement changes to my mod if I can make work on the console beforehand. That means any features that requires F4SE or involves ini files won't be used.
