Makes food more difficult to find and grow. Removes healing effects from food.

HARDCORE FOOD
This is a hardcore survival mod which is a light companion mod to Immersive Water Purification. It roughly does for food what IWP does for water. That is, it makes everything more challenging. You'll find food more difficult to find in the world, and settlements will have a tougher time at first trying to grow food for themselves. Early on in the game, you'll likely have to go scavenging for food yourself, in order to keep your settlements fed.
SPECIFIC CHANGES:
- Less pre-war food can be found in the world, it is almost entirely gone from the surface.
- When harvesting crops there is a 50-80% chancing of getting a "withered" version of the crop, due to the harsh climate of the wasteland. Some crops grow better in the wasteland than others.
- New crops now require seeds. When harvesting crops, there is a small chance they'll drop a seed in addition to the crop. Seeds can also be found with certain vendors.
- Wild crops have a much higher chance of dropping seeds than domestic crops.
- Crops now provide less food for settlements, although some crops are better than others. It will take some time before you get a settlement with enough crops to feed themselves. Certain crops which already existed in the world, such as the ones at Grey Garden, have much better yields than the ones you plant yourself.
- Some of the cooking recipes have been modified. They now require purified water instead of dirty water.
- Food no longer heals.
Installation:
Download and install with your favorite mod manager. There are two plug-ins.
Move NFFY - Well Some Food for You.esp to the top of your load order.
Move HardcoreFood.esp to the bottom of your load order.

I recommend setting WOTC preset to "Mama's Boy", and then increasing the spawn frequency of animals to medium. This will allow you to effectively use hunting as a viable source of food.
