Nice. If you don't like crafting shells change the file. Remove crafting cost and make it give 100 shells. Set shell weight to 0.
After the first crafting you will have plenty of shells to throw and you can pick them up. If you actually throw 100 shells just change the file to give 500 shells or as many as you need.
Not the most useful thing, especially since with the way Fallout's AI works, if you throw something, they're likely to just turn around and start shooting you, instead of looking at what you've thrown. Still, there might be some use to it.
Actually it doesn't work like that. They will go to the exact spot it landed, same as my decoy grenade mod and the same as Throw Voice from skyrim. So it is a useful thing =]
Interesting! I had given up about the sneaking in the game a long time a go, the game just don't seem to support it, but now I can see a way. Although I'll go for the Decoy grenade because I really like that sound you applied to it. Thank you Genaxx
I was in the Corvega plant and tested these, and when i threw them they just turned around and shot me to death. lol Not sure what's up with that, especially since my leather was shadowed, have some stealth perks and hiding in a corner in the shadows.
Hi. My compliments. This mod looks like it works well, it's a good idea, and it probably makes the game more awesome for a lot of people.
Personally, I'm not ready to jump up and start using it at the moment, though, because honestly it seems a bit too easy. Yes, I've played other games where we lure someone in with a thrown object. But honestly, would that work so flawlessly, all the time, in real life? Some people, sure, would be dumb enough to go exactly to where the casing hit. OOH a casing. Look closely. But many folks would be on high alert, extra-observant, looking for where an object may have been thrown from. Especially if they were already on alert.
In general, most games including FO4 suffer from poor AI awareness and tactics. Outsmarting dumb AI isn't that exciting. I'd love to see better AI in most games.
Specifically for this mod, I'd be more likely to use it if there was a chance of someone realizing the casing was thrown, and examining /going to the point of origin. The chance being MUCH higher if they were already on alert. I don't know that much about the game internals or modding, but maybe the method used to make opponents react when a grenade is thrown could be utilized.
