So I thought I'd give an update on how things stand with myself, and this mod, as I've been quiet about it for... let's say a long time.
When I started creating mods for Fallout 4, I was really excited as it was something new to me. People really appreciated the three mods I've made which made me really happy, and I was glad people liked what I did. It made me want to continue, with the mods. But as we know, that didn't go very far, did it? So few months after I've uploaded the mod, I've 'ditched' it and haven't made any progress on it since. So here's an explanation to why this happened, and what I plan on doing moving foroward.
Roughly a month after the mod has been released, something tragic has happened in my life. I've lost one of my parents, and the next year would prove to be a really difficult year for me. I've lost interest in everything, and I went into a downward spiral; nothing made sense I was just depressed. This was also at the time when I was about to finish my first year at University, so quite stressful times. After taking off a lot of time over the summer holiday I've gotten back to normal-ish, and I was doing better at the time. This was also the time when I came back to gaming, and Fallout 4.
Skip ahead to around Sept, 2017. As we all know, Fallout 4 was/is not a perfect game... far from. But the modding ability, gives us a lot of freedom to improve the game. But that wasn't enough for me. I've become tired of the game, and no longer found joy in playing it. Around this time, my hard drive with all my mods files crashed losing pretty much all of the stuff I've been working on. Naturally that has made me really angry, and not want to work on the mods again. At the same time, a lot of new games have been released at the time, which I've just found way more enjoyable than Fallout 4.
Skip ahead to roughly August 2018. For few months I've been considering getting back into the modding of Fallout 4 (and maybe other games too). I can't give any specific dates on when things will happen, but I want them to. I'm currently on my winter break from University, so I have some more time to work on things; still keep in mind I'm on my final years, so things are very busy.
I'd like to thank all of you for supporting this mod to even this date (even though it's not been having a great run), and at the same time I would like to apologize everyone for ditching the mod couple of months after the realease... As soon as I get back Fallout 4, I will see what the state of the modding is and how this mod looks in the current version of the game (if it even works); and I shall make updates from there.
I don't suppose there are any files missing? Because when I tried to install this mod on MO2, it gives me a warning that 1 only contains the Data file or something. Is that suppose to happen and I was meant to ignore it?
I know this is way late, but since this is still an issue in 2023, I'll answer for those still interested.
When attempting to install using MO2, a prompt will pop up telling you that the mod is not set up properly. It should look something like this.
<data> DanLi_VailtExplorerMashup
Click the arrow next to DanLi_VailtExplorerMashup to view to folders. It should be a data folder and 2 Readmes. Then click the arrow next to the data folder to reveal more subfolders. Select everything inside the data folder and drag it up to <data> and drop it there. Now hit ok. This should fix the issue.
Basically the mod was set up to install a folder, containing a data folder, inside the games data folder.
Not to sound rude to the mod author, but crafting the armor wasn't very clear.
Download this mod to get the armorsmith workbench: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2451/?
The armorsmith workbench is different from the standard armor workbench. You also need the level 2 version of the local leader perk in order to craft it. The suit should be in there ready to craft once all the previous steps have been met.
i just wish someone would make a outfit like this but in a male version there is no mod out there that has a vault suit with rolled short or sleeveless top for a male
If you've been having issues at the crafting table with the Vault Explorer in not seeing crafting options or getting stuck in the menu, check out this crafting fix. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45151
This mod looks great, but for some reason I'm not having any luck in actually using it? I have the relevant mods installed and the workbench built, but its just not there as a crafting option. I'm probably missing something glaringly obvious, but does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!
