Update: I've added the gas masks to S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Raider Outfits for one combined mod. Remember to uninstall this mod before installing the combined version. I will keep this mod for those who only want the gas masks.
There is an Armorsmith Extended patch at the AE page. Thanks to Gambit77 for making it.
Version 1.3. The gas masks are added to the raider leveled lists via scripts so there should be no conflict with other mods that add armor to raiders. All credit goes to XarathosHawke for making the script files. You can also choose the crafting only version. I've also added AWKCR patches for both versions. Thanks to BRT Gaming and Nozi87 | Mod Showcases a.k.a. izon87604 for showcasing the mod(s).
G’day, love these gas masks, they look great. Thanks for making this. I was just wondering at what level these gas masks are injected into the raider leveled lists. I started a new game with this mod installed, left the vault (level 1 character) and (as a test) spawned 150 raiders and not one of them had one of these masks. cheers.
UPDATE: Spawned 150 Raider Wasters as a level 16 character and they showed up (roughly 10%), so all good. Thanks again for creating this mod.
Nice one Nozi87 AKA izon87604, i've been watching so many Mods Video of yours since way back to Skyrim, i love them all (i really like your intro for the FO4 ones) !
I just stumbled across my first new freshly modded raider, all alone on his own the poor guy, he was wearing the "Grease Monkey Outfit" with a "Pearly Whites Gas Mask" actually. It was funny though, as i was sneaking behind him (but still wanting to see the front side of the outfit worn before i had him killed) i ended up jumping behind his back without him noticing anything whatsoever, if it wasn't for Dogmeat i'd still be there dancing behind him...
It would've been cool if the masks and outfits could spawn as a pair, but as stated in the video it may not be possible. But other than that it seems to work fine.
I wasn't complaining mate, just pointing out that my raider had them both, because he mentioned "the fact it's either or" (if i understand well enough, still i might have missanderstood & got confused) but mine was fully equipped...
The mismatch doesn't bother me that much actually, i think it might even be better in the long run, adds a bit a variety.
So here's a suggestion for compatibility with Raider Overhaul: turns out, outfits can be injected into the leveled lists via scripts much the same way that weapons can be.
I've manually patched a couple of mods for my own use via this method - basically it's just inserting leveled lists into other lists, so the scripting is identical to the way it's implemented on any number of weapon mods. I'm not sure why nobody seems to be using it for armor/clothing yet. Maybe something to do with outfit records or control or......... I don't know. But for a lot of applications it seems to work fine. Maybe it could work for you?
EDIT: If that sounds like too much work to learn, I might be able to do it for you and share the file for upload here.
EDIT TO THE EDIT: Or I could PM you instead. Less work for everyone.
@XarathosHawke Apparently we had the same idea at the same time ( mine was initially for his S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Raider Outfits Mod ), the only difference being that you actually know what you're talking about.
So i just wanted you to know how greatful i am for your dedicated work with the scripted leveled list for both of Xerophthalmia's Mods !! It's always nice to see you guys helping one another to get a better/nicer/whatever game for us to enjoy.
