There are a lot of good stations in Old World Radio, but I think this is the best one, or at least the one I place receivers for in settlements the most often.

After quite a bit of searching I think the voice actor's name is Joe Pike. He has a voice website where he shows off his range and the Sam Elliot impression is the same as Dusty Dude exactly.

What this Station needs to be PERFECT, IS a Guitarversion of Ghostriders in the Sky.
IT would be great to find Dusty Dude in a Radioshack somewhere in the Commonwealth, there was a Video of someone showing a Dusty Dude NPC....

    I love this radio.
if only the recording of the radio were longer...
after 48 hours of gameplay i'm pretty sure i've heard the history about the boomers at least 6 times now.

Top-notch guitar and phenomenal DJ personality, but yeah, the story of how he got the name Dusty Dude is a very obvious tall tale.
For starters, the Boomers were strictly isolationist and would not have conducted bandit raids on nearby settlements. They had their own crops, fresh water supply, and power generation, were forbidden from leaving Nellis Air Force Base, and operated under a disciplined military hierarchy.
Second, there's no way the Boomers would have reached out to the Powder Gangers for an alliance, primarily due to the former's isolationism but also because the Powder Gangers were clearly unhinged criminals thriving amidst a power vacuum in the Mojave, not exactly the kind of group the Boomers would want to associate with the first place.
Third, there is no - as in zero - possibility of disguising oneself as a Boomer and infiltrating their "camp" because they are raised in a homogenous community on Nellis AFB and all know each other from childhood. Their uniforms are hand-me-down vault suits, for crying out loud.
Depending on the outcome of the events that took place in the Mojave in 2277, it is possible for the Boomers to open up and interact with the greater wasteland, but never is it implied that they have the potential become a roving rabble of rapacious raiders like the Khans.
Also, the scenario of Dusty and his accomplice shooting each other in "non-lethal areas." What exactly does that entail? A shot in the arm or leg can still shatter bones, liquify muscle, sever tendons, rupture arteries, etc. Even a roundnose .22 can be nasty if it ricochets off the skeleton. An open wound can easily get infected in the dusty conditions of the Mojave.
Honestly, I think this whole story was just an excuse to say the word "Boomers" in a humorous cowboy accent.
Yet some stellar guitar-strumming on this station. Great ambiance for playing with the FROST overhaul, and I can simply disregard Dusty's tall tales anyway since they don't line up with 2082.

Does anyone know if cdante's Dusty Dude companion ever came out? I saw a video yesterday from years ago, but no Dusty Dude. I'd love him as a companion.
