About this mod

A project aimed at becoming a major overhaul of the various weapons and armors of Fallout 4. This is a continuation of the Immersive Wastelander's Series which I started recently.

Permissions and credits

One of the issues I've encountered in the many hours I've buried into this game is that some of the textures are just a bit too pristine to fit into a post-nuclear-apocalyptic wasteland. I decided that instead of being annoyed by such things, I'd fix them, as well as hand out those fixes to other players, which they can use if they so choose, hence the birth of this series. This package in particular is a lore-friendly, immersive texture replacement for the various arms and armor-sets of Fallout 4. It features a more worn, dirty, and detailed look, while maintaining vanilla texture-size and performance. It fits into the game very well and its purpose is mostly to increase the feeling of realism while playing.

The mod contains several packages to choose from, they currently include:

1 • Combat Armor - Faded Star

○ Overhauls the color palette of combat armor for a more neutral and adaptive style.
     ○ Retains the star on the chest piece, although it's faded.

2 • Combat Armor - No Star
     ○ Overhauls the color palette of combat armor for a more neutral and adaptive style.
     ○ Removes the star on the chest piece.

3 • 10mm Pistol
     ○ Overhauls the color palette of 10mm Pistols, adding dirt, grime, and rust.

4 • Sniper Rifle
     ○ Replaces the textures of the marksman's stock and the scope for the hunting Rifle, making them fit into the world a bit better.

5 • Revolver
     ○ Adds dirt and stains to the revolver to help it fit in the game.

6 • Laser Weapons
     ○ Helps the laser weapons look less like plastic toys, and gives them a more industrial feel.

7 • Pipe Weapons
     ○ Overhauls the color palette of handmade pipe guns, adding various rust, dirt, stains, and even makes some attachments look jury rigged.

8 • Institute Weapons
     ○ Adds a bit of dust and scratches to the institute weapons, and helps tone down the over-saturation of the default textures.

8 • Recon Scope
     ○ Changes the Recon Scope textures so they don't look so horribly out of place.

I want people to play a part in this mod, and this series growing. If you have any suggestions for what weapons or armor to do next, let me know in the 'Forum' & 'Posts' sections and I'll try to find out what's in highest demand so I can add it to the mod.

If you're using the NMM, then just press "Download with manager" and let the NMM handle the rest for you!

If you're installing this mod manually, then first you need to make sure that Fallout 4's .ini file is ready to allow the game to receive loose files provided by mods, then you'll have to drop the necessary files into place.

1 • Navigate to Fallout4.ini which is located (By Default) at "~/My Documents/My Games/Fallout4/Fallout4.ini"

2 • in the [Archive] section, make sure that 'sResourceDataDirsFinal' is set to "STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\"

3 • Save Fallout4.ini

4 • Place the 'Data' folder from the .zip archive into your Fallout 4 directory. By default "~/Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4"

5 • Merge folders and replace files if necessary.

6 • Enjoy!
