I am unable to move or open the gates or doors I built and placed after installing this made. This included said that are inherently part of the game However, NPCs and I can walk through them now.
Also, gates and doors that are inherently part of the game, can no longer be utilized to get into quests that involve the building/area they are in/on. For example, while I can open the door at The Back Alley, there is a brick wall there blocking my entrance.

I forgot to update this a while back. Eventually, things normalized, I think on their own.

This is indeed the most simple texture mod of all time. And i love it! Thanks, endorsement and kudos to you for spotting this!

How does this compare with the Faraway Area Reform mod?
    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1355/?

    And are they compatible?

This mod would replace the noise.dds texture associated with that mod (assuming you installed that afterwards). Everything else would remain the same. I actually have not installed FAR myself, so I'm kind of interested to see what the difference would be with no terrain noise + the FAR mod.

    Hi jhardingame,
i share your opinion about the dirty noise texture being distractive. Your mod is a real improvement and gives my eyes less strain while playing. I happily endorse your mod and will vote for it.

can you post a single images showing the before and after in the same shot for each of your different images? I just am not able to see a visual difference even when I cut and paste both before and after onto the same pane.

In the "With Noise" Images you see black "dots" in the Backgrounds, for example near the Bridge in the first Picture. In the "No noise" Images you can see no black "dots". That what it means.

The black "dots" you mention are those the black dots on the other side of the river, on the river bank?
Those black dots are supposed to be grass...

What I find this mod does is not kill the noise but reduce the LOD ( level of detail )

I know what the black dots are, ;-). But as you can see, not all of the People here know, what LOD is. And I explained it in a very simple way.
I'm testing it out this evening, because I think it could reduce the flickering of ENB-Mods. But will see it tonight.

It's a "cleaner" texture for distant landscape terrain.

Conceptually, this is kinda brilliant. I'm gonna give this a try immediately. Way to think outside of the box. Cheers.

Yeah, not sure why it's like that, file is uploaded and all. Not sure what's going on there. I've posted a DL Link in the description until that's resolved.

Will this do anything for performance?

No, the terrain noise texture was basically just a simple texture that was tiled over, so even the original's texture effect on performance is pretty much none in comparison to the entire game. Since it replaces the original texture, it's technically still being rendered by the game. Only other real way for it to have any effect on performance is to basically make it a 1 pixel texture, since it's blank, but since it's literally only 1 texture, there's no real impact there at all. Only other option really is to remove the noise texture entirely, but since it's packed into a BA2 archive with everything else from the game, that's a little bit more difficult.
