NOTE: My mod does not do any tagging of items, nor does it perform the replacement of tags with icons. This is done by Valdacil's Item Sorting and DEF_UI, respectively. I'm happy to answer questions about tagging, or modifying DEF_INV_TAGS.xml if I can, but my mod does not change the system that does the tagging or replacing the tags with icons. I simply added icons to the iconlibs2.swf (think of this file as an icon library for Flash) to give everyone more options, and to include icons for several VIS tags not in the original DEF_UI release. Please direct any questions reguarding problems with missing tags or icons to Valdacil, he created VIS and maintains DEF_UI. Thanks!!

How does one get to use all the other icons in the file? I see there are a lot of icons in the file marked with a m_b. Every time I try and reference one it doesn't work.

Heya! I just played around with it myself, and I figured out how!
So, you just basically need to go into the DEF_INV_TAGS.xml, and add this under the category you want to have more icons for:<tag icon='[name of icon]' keyword='[reference in-game]' hidetag='true'/>
Example with the Shishkebab icon file:
      <tag icon='w_shish' keyword='Shishkebaby' hidetag='true'/>
      Hope this helps!

Not sure if anyone is looking at this, but after following all the instructions for this mod, as well as all the other mods recommended, I am not seeing any icons.  A shame.  I have been playing with colored Pipboy and that works fine, but no icons.  Bummer.

Can't get the color version to work, it just displays in black/white. What could cause this? Using it with VIS and DEF

Could you explain, is this mod a reskin/recolour of def_ui or does it add icons to items that didn't previously had one

Can this mod be used with Ruddy88's Simple Sorter instead of Valdacil's Item Sorting?

Hi! Can you add faction icons from the Nuka World DLC? It would be very cool to sort the raiders ' armor by clan.

      +1
I'm currently re-doing my entire load order because it was a clusterfuck and I want to merge a lot of plugins.

I wasn't sure if this was compatible with VIS-G or not until seeing this comment.

Hope we get an answer soon, and if not, that it's because the author is working feverishly to make it happen!

I've had a look at the XML tags for VIS-G and they're VASTLY different. So no, not immediately compatible. If you wanted to re-write the whole Tabs/Tags XML files, sure, it could work.

ah man i dont know what is going on!
to sum it all up i simply cant get any of these icons to show up or really (any others for that matter) besides some on the Ammo, Aid and Misc sections on the Pipboy.

Yes i have all 4 of the Mods that go with this one but i just cant figure out what i need to do with them, order wise and what Mod should Overwrite another?
i tried the order that was posted on here but it just doesnt work for me
    1DEF_UI, 2 VIS, 3 Gold Kit, 4 Updated Iconlibs2
i overwrite each one in order starting with DEF UI then i let VIS overwrite DEF UI and so on but it never works properly.. bleh

is there anything i am missing? i really hope theres an easy fix because this mod would be so Useful to have !

Same here. I've tried a variety of combinations of load and overwrite orders, with no luck. Even tried combining iconlibs2.swf files with each other, and messing with the xml files. Damn shame that VIS/DEF_UI don't have complete icons, colored or not.

On an ongoing save it take a minute for icons to start to show. Lists need to update first. Or you need to craft the items and make sure it has the tags.

What exactly does that mean? What would you need to do to trigger them to appear?

I tried starting new games, albeit with Start Me Up and gear, but still no new icons.

Is there nothing you need to do with the actual Icon images provided in the zip file? Figured maybe you needed to move those to some Fallout file folder.
