Good mod, but it only works when you use right click to aim. If you use anything else, you still need to hold it down. Don't ask why I use something other than right click to aim.

Essential mod to rest a while when aiming and/or take detailed screenshots, this system must have been in vanilla since beginning as another setting (among tons of settings that we need to add by mods...), I hope that Bethesda take notes of many mods like this one that makes our lives better.

Managed to get it working with New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) installed and placing the "Aim Toggle.esp" in ":\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data" & then launching the game via "nvse_loader.exe" inside the fallout new vegas folder.

I couldn't get this mod working in New Vegas, and the setting in Project Vegas only works on certain guns. However, after about an hour of messing around with AutoHotKey (a macro program), I finally have a working script. The problem is that New Vegas uses both the left Alt key AND the right mouse button to aim for some reason, which is why a simple script using only the right mouse button doesn't work. Anyway, here's what you gotta do:

      1. Download AutoHotKey at http://www.autohotkey.com/ and install it
      2. Open Notepad, and paste in this script: http://pastebin.com/tUYTDEpa
      3. Save the file, the name doesn't matter but make sure the file extension is .ahk
      4. Double click the AHK file, you should then see a green H icon in the system tray

You can now toggle aim with the right mouse button. The only problem is you can't right click the AHK icon in the tray and close it like you would normally, since the script uses the Alt key. So, you have to ALT+CTRL+DEL and close it manually using the task manager. It's messy, but it works.

I love this little handy tool. Great because it is so simple. Doesn't conflict with any other utility mod out there either. I want to endorse this file but FO3Nexus site wont allow me at the mo. Will come back later. Thanks for the mod.

This is quite nice but I don't use the right mouse button to aim. I map this to jump. I do this for all my FPS games. Just my preference.
Is there a way to set this to say an alternate mouse key?
I'm using a Logitech G9 and use the thumb button (Mouse button 4) to bring up iron sights.

I have tried changing the button properties in the program for my mouse (Set Point) but the game will not load up if I do this. Basically swapping mouse button 2 and 4.

    Strange but true.

    EDIT

Maybe changing something in the script in GECK?
