Hello to all from Russia! Thank you for your comments and endorosements. I made this mod for themselves immediately after the fallout3 out in 2008, i cant find other ways to raise the weight limit on the internet. Of the tools i was using was the only editor for oblivion, file analysis fallout3.exe, and hexedit of course Well, i decided to upload it here, in nexus. And i am very glad that this simple mod was useful to many people.
Just pointing this out: You can literally change your weight limit by going into the console, which can be accessed by pressing ` (on the US keyboard), and typing the following command: player.setav carryweight 50000
It's a lot easier to do than download and install a mod, which this technically isn't. You can get the exact same result from using player commands.
maybe in '08 it was a more difficult thing to do, but with FO3edit, its falling off the log simple, find file fAVDCarryWeightsBase [GMST:000268A1] edit value. once done, it never needs doing again. but 50k is a bit overboard, even collecting everything from DLC OA i used less than 12k think it was around 9 or 10k, so 15k would be more than enough.
yes it is a mod, anything that edits a file in the fo3 esm or any of the DLCs makes it a mod. if you like using the ~ key everytime you start a new game, fine dont DL it then.
@KeyCode: it is and it's not. 'modav' adds your entry to the carryweight you already have and is often not permanent (you need to re-apply after having closed the game) while 'setav' (and also 'forceav') set the amount to what you entered and you only have to do it once. 'Forceav' differs in that the number you added won't change, even when you up a level and add to your strength.
This mod has a serious error. The game ignores it but any HUD or mod organizing mods will pick it up and you'll find yourself weighed down because the mod will fail. The reason is because it is an .esp file but its header is that of an .esm.
It is all rather silly really because you can set your carrying capacity without any mods. Hit your tilde key (squiggly symbol left of the exclamation mark) while in game and type (without inverted commas) "player.modav carryweight 3000." You can make that last figure 500, 10000, 100000, or anything you like. That will be how much you can carry.
