I thoroughly enjoyed this mod. It's like Fallout meets Myst! Very well written and great voice acting, though if I'm being hypercritical there were a couple of typos. Far less than most mods that have a lot of written content, though! Now I must try out all your other mods...
A veritable breath of fresh brain-air compared to the often rather unchallenging Bethesda: ''Find this, do that, shoot them.'' quest requirements. I played through it in one session overnight. Truly magnificent how it starts off in Fallout, creates a whole new game with it's elements, and then returns to it, and I've only one 'disbelief' criticism regarding bringing items out of a dream when you can't take anything into it, which, I think, could have been resolved with a blueprint for the rifle, and a (Punga?) recipe for the fruit, but now I'm nitpicking.
I would endorse it twice if I could, and I'll be installing your other FO3 works chronologically. It should be very interesting to watch your evolution. NEXUS, a VISA option please!
In case you are stuck in some puzzle of this mod I made a walkthrough of this mod. You can find it here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLywUlYBrpVO6L2qRmMJ_lE0CuS2__Sxye
I've had this mod installed for years but I forgot about it, until I stumbled upon the notes that start the quest. It's a good mod. I didn't like it as much as "An Evening With Mr Manchester" because this is mostly a loosely connected series of quests that have very little to do with Fallout. The quests are a bit harder than Manchester, but not in a good way. Generally, with Manchester you knew more or less what you were trying to do, and because the quests were in the "real world" there was some logic to them. With the subject of Dream being, well, dreams, the quests are abstract and disjointed. As an example, there is a particularly illogical sequence in the dream world where you have to open a particular door, illuminate a particular x-ray and display a particular mushroom in order to progress. Although there are clues for each piece, there is no narrative to instruct you that progression is tied to those seemingly disconnected items. There are also a lot of items that you have to find that are located in non-intuitive places. For example, the key to the hunting lodge is found on a ledge near a small pond with blue mushrooms growing in it. There is no clue for that location, which is a hidden location on a big map. Finally, I think it is worth noting that this mod does not play well with Fallout Wanderer's Edition (FWE) or any flora/grass mod. There are a lot of items found on the floor, which grass can obscure, and there is a particularly nasty sequence where you have to solve a puzzle while being bombarded by grenades, which is very annoying to get past with FWE since the grenades do a lot of damage and knock you down so you cannot pull the levers to solve the puzzle. I used the TGM console command to get past that bit. Also, there is a lot of radiation in this mod, which is a killer in FWE - particularly when you cannot take any meds or armor into the dream world. Overall, an above average puzzle mod, but I would be lying if I said I did not find it frustrating and unintuitive, By the end, I was really glad for it to be over. The gun you get rewarded with is very good though, since it makes .32 ammo in FWE actually useful.
I have a problem. Every time I use the Doorway, I get a message saying that I got the Nightmare's Embrace. After that, the doorway potion wears off. I go to the bed upstairs and I am on this platform with the forest below me. I leap off and I die. I know something is wrong because I looked at the FAQ and needed to complete a bunch of puzzles. Is there a way to fix this?
This mod is awesome by the way. Edit: Turns out there is something on the platform I can do. I feel little silly for not noticing it in the first place.
IF ANYONE LIKE ME WAS STUCK LIKE A DUCK AND COULDNT FIND ANY WALK TROUGHS AND THEN FOUND OUT THAT THE FAQ LINK IS DEAD https://web.archive.org/web/20141203001609/http://www.pucemoose.com/tsptd.htm
