New version released today. Now you have to go get them from a specific location, For spoilers see the readme file. The controller is switched from a Misc item to an Apparel item as recommended by Bethesda. You also get a note with instructions on how to use them, and a few tweaks to minimize / eliminate them disappearing (going invisible), sinking into the floor, and doing hyperspace jumps across the room...
If you already installed the older version and purchased them from a vendor HAVE NO FEAR - your controller will be automagically replaced (and removed from the wasteland location you were meant to find it in) so if you have the Male collection, but not the Female one, your Action Team Adventurer Misc item will be removed and replaced with <Action Team Adventurer> in the Apparel tab, and you'll get the instructions note. Meanwhile the <Action Team Adventurer> item will be removed from the wasteland, but the <Action Team Adventuress> item will still be out there for you to find.
The only way this could be cooler would be to scatter some around the wasteland to find. Especially if you took the time to try to make some of the locations funny - like having some suggestively positioned in a General's office in one of the military bases.
