Thank you for adding this to fallout 3 as well! However, how does this work with mothership zeta? Is it possible to activate the ship before being abducted, because the ship is gone when you return?
Alright, I haven't tested the Zeta thing before, and it turns out that you cannot get close enough to the ship to take the Blaster before being abducted. So I just went right ahead and added an updated version that forcibly adds it to your inventory during abduction (if you don't have it already).
As for getting it AFTER the DLC, the ship you can interact with is technically a new object, so it should still be there even after it's over.
